@@TheIndogamer I remember back in 2004 when I was like 6, I had a dinosaur teddy bear that I love so much that I kept him by my side when sleeping and are still doing so. In 2011 this game came out and I bought it, jump right in the mission and saw Miller with his son's dinosaur, it was so relateable because my dad bought me my dino teddy bear. Then seeing what Solomon did to him I was in tears, hit me so hard that scene. Who said Battlefield campaign has no soul.

If they removed all the god the hell awful QTE BF3 campaign woulda been hella more fun to play. Also, if they added the BFBC2 kit selection boxes throughout the game, woulda been awesome to. Cuz, yes, I wanna rock an M60 through the entire campaign, not just 1 mission near the end. Make it coop and it woulda totally taken the cake.

@@CMDRFandragon I was fine with the QTE's, but I agree about Bad Company 2's selection boxes. I like the option of using my favorite weapons instead of just what I'm given or the enemies drop.

This is such a good mission, the immersion attempt is really there. it'd be cool if we could get a 2022 version of this type of sequence, with better teammate AI and visual differences between individual tanks

The level of attention to detail with the Warthog run is stunning. You can even hear the delay of the bullets leaving the plane shortly after they impact the ground.

What i loved about this game, and ESPECIALLY this mission, is that you can obviously tell DICE did their homework with researching how US tank platoons and Battalions operated in the Gulf war and the 2003 Iraq invasion. The use of chevron formations, tanks leading with the Bradley / Amtrac following... Maps like Tehran Highway, Operation Guillotine were obviously inspired by the events in the 90s and early 2000s.... the highway of death in this mission....and they absolutely nailed it. Tehran Highway may not have been the BEST map to play, but the background scenery with the AA guns, Flak, explosions and BM-21s firing... they absolutely nailed.. the best in the game.

Missions like this is one thing I prefer over call of duty. The vehicle missions I feel have something that COD doesn't. Not saying that Battlefield is better then COD but it's a good cracking game nonetheless. 👏

@@ancaplanaoriginal5303 yeah BF3 got it wrong, they showcased the wrong model At 0:34 it says they are from marines batallion but showcased M1A2 instead of M1A1 HC. M1A2 has CITV and no other variant has it. (can be seen at (0:15, in front of the guy there is that bucket-like thingy)

This is the only FPS tank mission I've ever actually liked. Awesome level design- The way it starts out with you tearing through a wide valley, then gradually transitions to the suburbs and shifts to urban combat, with increasingly fearsome resistance (when I originally played it those VBIEDs coming at me felt like a horror game). Super memorable.

God. Forgot how good Battlefield 3's sound design was. Gives me chills.

On another note, I'm more impressed with how quickly the loader gets the round in the turret.

Best tank battle in video games by far. The opening to this mission is motivating like it is in real life.

Instead of the main character and their allies being invincible, I liked the part of the BF1 campaign where the enemy overwhelmed your position and you die as multiple different characters during the desperate battle. I'd like all the war games to show the mortality and trauma of both sides. That could still be engaging, but at the same time to show that war is never cool.

BF3 is a masterpiece. Multiplayer and campaign are the best I've ever play. I'm turning on my xbox 360 to play this again.

Deus Vult Lmaooo, Merkavas engine placement does not help at all. There is little room for composite armor. HEAT and APFSDS go right through that engine and the crew.

Deus Vult Not true, the penetration of modern HEAT IS 600mm-900mm. The design of HEAT is to create a supercompressed jet of metal/plastics, followed by an explosive. The kinetic energy of this metal jet will penetrate armor and continue through steel a meter thick. T72’s in the Middle East have holes from their front plate, through a full fuel tank, compartment’s and engine block from HEAT and TOW missiles.

Deus Vult You also have it backwards, the design of APFSDS is to penetrate and spall. The tips of Sabot’s are dense metals that perpetrate armor and compress. Once inside a compartment, the compressed and heated metal expands and spalls into fragments.

Battlefield used to be so badass. Now look at the garbage we have with Battlefield V.

Lol not to nitpick but in that first encounter with enemy armour he drives full-speed directly in front of the enemy so he has to shoot at their frontal armour while giving them a big, juicy shot at his side armour. Thank God nobody ever accused this game of being a milsim.

I still listen the Thunder Run occasionaly when driving....brings chills for a thing I never experienced! 05:32

Bf3s campaign may have not been the best but it had some epic moments and badass aesthetics like this

God damn it. My immersion is shattered the moment that first line of enemy tanks doesn't evaporate from the combined might of every Abrams there.

The only thing inaccurate about this mission is M1 Abram Tanks are supposed to fire outside of an enemy tank's effective firing range.

This level was the reason why I joined the Army and became an M1 Crewman
