This is simply an arrogant initiative undertaken by the US to do two things: firstly, to infer that Hamas does not wish for a ceasefire. Thereby undermining the pro-Palestinian ceasefire movement; the Americans think that they can manipulate the pro-Palestinian ceasefire movement by cynically trying to back Hamas into a logic trap so they can accuse them of not wanting a ceasefire. The callous depths this displays of US diplomatic thinking is beyond arrogant and, worse, shows no regard for the people of Palestine's rights.

Withdrawal of Israeli forces from the "POPULATED AREAS IN GAZA" ! What does that mean? The only place now populate is Rafah! The Israel asked the Palestinians to move to that designated safe area some 4 months ago. Very cunning indeed with words play. When US vetoed other resolutions why this has to be accepted? The US resolution could be accepted when and only the VETO power is stripped of US.

With no mention of Palestinian statehood and self determination, It basically says “go back to your gulag and if you ever try to break out again, you know what we can do to you.” Which sounds like exactly what they wanted. It’s the status-quo they were trying to uphold before Hamas supposedly “broke the ceasefire “ on Oct. 7. Perhaps they are determined to have the land and end the population now.
