Today we're taking another look at Task Force Admiral, a highly anticipated WW2 naval strategy and RTS game. In this video, we'll be focusing on a US dive bomber attack on a Japanese carrier strike force task force. Honestly two thing the devs REALLY need to add: 1. Radio chatter when you lock the camera to a unit 2. Pilot names for each plane so you can actually grow attached to your fleet and follow a specific pilot if you wish

1st one I do agree with second one I dont think is worth the work as there will be too much units for you to grow attach to a single pilot, units however yes, like a squad could have a call sing like the grim reapers or something alike

So you are basically directing strategic forces, but you don't control the individual forces?

I think this is just a non "playable" demo as someone else mentioned. If I understand correctly the concept for the game means you can control different amounts depending on difficulty/realism settings. At lower settings you can probably give orders in more detail or more often. At the full realism mode you are supposed to be the admiral on the ship and not a metaphysical being giving commands directly to each pilots brain. You can only communicate with units with radios or you plan a strike and once the aircraft are launched they are on their own to complete the mission. ie if you send them to look for enemy near point x and meet your carrier again at point y, its up to you to get the carrier to point y in time for them to land. You cant tell them mid flight to meet you at point Z instead.

you can control what individual units do(or at least the devs said you can) but yeah. the game is meant to be played a theater scale

Do the carriers have to launch their planes while sailing into the wind or can they launch anywhere?

@Unknown_Commander honestly, whether it gets implemented or not, the fact it's being talked over impresses me greatly as I'm unaware of any game that takes having to sail into the wind into account

@@TheBanzaiCharge Hello there. Sailing into the wind is implemented and functional, this is what the carriers do to launch their CAP in all the videos you might have seen over the last few days. Wind right now can already be visualized on the map, and changes in direction and intensity during a given scenario. Cheers & thanks for following us :)
