Well they did have a warning that it will happen. So they had plenty of time to get ready, I wonder if they would be as succsesful if Iran used their latest missiles, not old ones.

Iran had to put a red line, send a message and make a show of capability without causing civilian casualties. Even if it did not cause any significant damage at Ramon airfield (from where the planes that stricked the embassy took off) it showed it had the potential to hit it. The US alone took out 70 with Brits, French and others probably more than a third of the downings. Aside of the Shaheed drones which are relatively simple prey, the cruise and ballistic missiles required more sophisticated naval and terrestrial AA missiles that cost around 1.5 million upwards each. Like in the Houti case, the US either does not want to tie down a carrier groups, as resources are not infine not even for the US. Iran has obviously also learned a lot with this token attack from its enemies: procedures, players involved, more SIGINT on planes and missiles ... As you came to say the message is, I could overwhelm numerically and have more capabilities not profiled.

Nah Irann intended to do damage. You can’t make the drones arrive sooner. Those weren’t warnings they were timing the drones proximity to the border and unleashed missiles hoping to oversaturate the system. Even if next time they simply just randomly fire off missiles, that’s easier because you’re focused on intercepting those instead of having to worry about the multiple threats. There’s a reason the drones left first and missiles didn’t get fired until hours after

@@Findout66 Iran actually announced that they were not going to attack further before their attack even landed, so nothing to do with "seeing how it played out": Iran does not want war, not because they are unprepared, but because they know how destructive to the whole region, not only themselves and Israel, a war would be. Unfortunately Israel is not so moral, and wants to push USA into joining a full war on Iran.

They warned way before the attack, gave you the time to get ready, mostly uses outdated Shahed missiles and the 7 modern models that they used all passed through the air defences. It took the conjoined effort of israel, jordan, france, the UK and the US + over 1 billion dollar to take down that attack. This is unsustainable in a real war where they're likely capable of sending 10x this amount of missiles and drones every day.

that was a good time as any to test the US Navy's and Israel's defensive capability, especially in combat. impressive. I can't say if iran has the same capability.

The U.S. navy is just farming XP points in the Red Sea.😂Iran’s latest and greatest cruise & ballistic missiles + Sea drones, shaheed drones, underwater drones and not 1 US warship so much as scratched in the Red Sea(even with Russian and chineses and Iranian ships helping the Houthis with targeting). Now Russia on the other hand has lost 1/3 of their Black Sea fleet(plus a few ships moved from other Russ fleets)including their flagship(plus almost losing the ship that replaced it)to just sea drones and a few subsonic cruise missiles 😂

Interesting that Iran actually hit the areas it planned to hit - the bases and intelligence center that planned and carried out the attack on the Iranian embassy. The rest of the barrage was probably merely intended for show/distraction and to be intercepted. Iran has probably also been able to map the Israeli/US air defences to a large extent...which will come in handy if Iran needs to respond more forcefully to future aggression by Israel.
