They can ask any question in order to establish that the visitor is coming United States for the genuine purpose and won’t pose any kind of threat to the United States . One should know that the purpose of his / her visit and should be genuine . Moreover the grant of the visa from the US consulate in his / her home country doesn’t guarantee an entry into the United States . A visa is just a knock on the door . The main people who would allow entry are the CBP customs and border protection .

Good information, but also important to give the context and why they asks these questions. First they want to know that the reason for coming you state matches your visa. For example on a visitor visa you should not say you are coming to study or work. On a visitor visa valid reason is only as a tourist or ti visit friends or family. On the other hand on a H1 which is work visa your answer should be I am here to work for company.,Next they want to know if you will leave the country before visa expires. For that you need return ticket. Next they want to make sure you will be able to support yourself either through your own funds or with help from friends or relatives like staying with them. These are the reasons and the questions are to make sure yoo will meet the reasons.

Yes just show them that ur father is going to sponsore ur entire trip.he must show that he hav 2-3lac per person in his account frm last 6mnth

Is it necessary to carry Overseas Medical Policy for visiting USA. Our son is there & our return would depend upon whether we like USA or not. If we don't like USA we may return after 1 or 2 months or else may stay for 5/6 months. Secondly is it necessary to buy return tickets for India also/required to be bought in India before leaving for USA? We aren't sure how long we shall like to stay in USA & it depends upon how much we like USA. Regards

Hi, I got an Emigration Clearance from the POE office when I went to Saudi Arabia. I am currently going to Qatar on a work visa. Since Saudi Arabia's Emigration Clearance is already in place, will there be any restrictions/hindrance on obtaining Emigration Clearance to Qatar? Or can I get a new Emigration Clearance for Qatar without having to cancel my previous Emigration Clearance to Saudi Arabia? Can the nurses be able to register in the emigrate portal?
