I applied for citizenship November 2023, they received my application December 20th, they didn’t schedule me for biometrics, they did used my saved biometrics. I got interviewed March 2, 2024 and passed it. The officer put me under oath, took a picture and fingerprints. The officer asked me 5 questions, did the reading and writing and reviewed my N400 application. I got a letter for my Oath Ceremony a week after my interview. My Oath ceremony took place in Oklahoma City immigration last March 20, 2024. I am very proud and grateful at the same time.. Good luck to all citizenship aspirants and congratulations to all who hurdled this process. I did apply for a passport book and card as soon as I get my certification. I did pay $220.00 + $35.00 processing fee to the Post Office. Now, I have received both passport book and card and can’t wait to travel the world. I have upcoming travel to Canada in June, Mexico in August and Honduras in September.

Great video Kim….Very helpful. My wife is on a spousal visa as well. May 2024 will be the three year anniversary of her receiving her Green Card. We’re waiting on the notarized letters. We’re using an attorney for this (afraid we’d mess it up). Expect our N 400 to be filed next week or the week after. I hope she takes her oath on the same day as her interview like you did. We’re located in northeast Florida and I’ve seen on KZread these big formal oath taking ceremonies that took place in Jacksonville. Waiting for one of these ceremonies will add on additional time.

Good luck to you and your wife! And that’s good that you apply sooner than the 3 year mark. If your wife wants to wear something special for the oath taking, she could wear it during the interview just incase it’s on the same day. All the best!

There’s a portion online where you can submit supporting documents like water bills and electric bills with both you and spouse’s names on it, bank account/statement, joint tax documents, mortgages, marriage certificates, children’s birth certificates or even both of your IDs proving that you and your spouse are living under the same roof together. We also sent one family photo but that’s optional since the documents above are more than enough proof of your relationship/marriage.

What city, state was this in? Time frames vary for different field offices. Do you know, or anyone in the comments section, how long it takes in Las Vegas, NV?

Looks like interview and test are the same thing. I was expecting that the test would be on the computer not with a person. Is your husband allowed to some with you ? Thank you so much !

Location is SoCal , biometrics was different I remember, the interview (includes the verbal 100 questions, few from n400 form, reading and written english which is one sentence each), my husband was not allowed to come so he waited in the car

Thank you! Personally I already had my i751 approved before applying for citizenship so I’m not sure if you should wait or could file on the 3 yr mark. My husband also pays all the bills but we have included my name in the bills so we have proof that we are staying in the same residence. Marital evidences that I uploaded online are water bills, electric bills and IDs for me and my husband which all show that our addresses are the same and living in the same house. I’ve also sent just 1 photo as well as birth certificate of our child.

When you go to the interview, just mention to the officer interviewing you that you will have to make changes. I changed my number of children from 1 to 2 since I was pregnant when I applied and gave birth a month before my interview. You can change it there

If your wife is still in the Philippines and not holding a greencard, I believe she can’t apply for citizenship yet. I was living in the US for three years with my greencard before I was qualified to apply for citizenship

If you got the greencard through marriage then you can apply 3 years after (in your case June 22, 2025). If you got your greencard in a different way, I’m not sure when

This video is about my experience during my US citizenship interview. As for the greencard, we got married May 2018 then immediately applied for spousal visa. Got my interview on Sept 2019 in US embassy Philippines and my spousal visa on Oct 2019. Immediately flew to the US and got my 2 year greencard a few months after I came.

Question, do they ask you 100 questions and just have to get 10 correct?

They asked only 10 questions but it could be any of the 100 questions so make sure you know the answers to all. 6 or 7 out of 10 correct

It depends on how you got your greencard. For example, I was on spousal visa so after 3 years from having my greencard I was able to apply from citizenship.

Oh sorry I just read your comment. My spouse cannot enter the premises for interview so he just waited in the car. Marital evidences: marriage certificate, gas bills, electric bill, car mortgages, joint bank statement, birth certificates of our kids and just 1 photo. I believe you can file on the 3 year mark. There’s a test on the website to see your eligibility. If your name is not on the bills then if there’s other things with both names on it, that would suffice
