That's dumb. More like upgraded and used. MiG 27. MiG 29 su 27 and su24 are all used by Russia except su24. But su24 can launch storm shadow unlike f16s.
To learn, and upgrade them.
Obviously they're gonna be scrapped and use for parts/repaired and added to ukrainian fleet.

How many Abrams have been destroyed. Only 4 according to the Russians themselves. How many T-90 have been destroyed more than 50 according to the Russians themselves, more than 100 completely destroyed T-90s according to Oryx photographic evidence. Russia is in no position to brag
I understand about MiG-29s, Su-24s and Su-27s but MiG-27s? I don't get it.

A few weeks ago, the USAF used an F16 piloted by an AI to dogfight with a human pilot. The same could happen with these aircraft once overhauled, they could be used as cheap long range attack drones. Using soviet machines for this purpose is smarter than using western aircraft, looks less escalatory.

The modernization is economically impractical.. Why use soviet jets when they have thousands of american ones lying in the plane graveyard in US.
