7:54 - That vehicle for 463L Pallets is called a “K-Loader”. A flatbed truck is what hauls OTR (over the road) cargo. Great vid though, and largely accurate.
Does anyone remember when that one crew member loosened the tension straps holding the HUMVEEs down on the air drop pallets and around a half-dozen of them rolled off of the pallets, plummeting a few thousand feet to their destruction? I'll bet that guy spent some time in Leavenworth for that stunt! 😅
The packaging for air delivery is not done by the USAF or USMC air wing. It’s done by air delivery units part of Landing Support
5,000 feet AGL isn’t exactly “extreme altitude”, but good video. I live at 9,500feet elevation.
I had no idea they could just drop bags of food straight off the ramp without parachutes. What the heck are those bags made of?
