US 6 is such an important route. Good to see it through Omaha!

it used to be the LONGEST route in the USA until California truncated it from the beach back to Bishop, or so i have read about

@@efil4kizum- yes, US 20 is the longest now at 3365 miles. 6 is 2nd at 3207 miles.

You passed right by my old job and home street (72nd) .

Hate the lane signals. Arlington, TX is also bad about this on FM 157 by AT&T Cowboys Stadium and has been bad about this for decades.

US 6's original route eventually ran from Provincetown, on Cape Cod Bay in Massachusetts, to Long Beach, California (CA later cut it off at US 395 in Bishop). It and a number of others, were either forgotten or obliterated by the Interstate system (see US 66 and 99). The original Grand Army of the Republic Highway is one of America's forgotten highways. Shame.

there are many stretches of US-6 that also are part of I-80 in Iowa and I-70 in Colorado...maybe the same in other states but I am not sure at the moment

it woulda been super nice had you made this video before the Crossroads Mall was demolished at 72nd and US-6 (Dodge St. NW corner) it had a neat looking food court tower

US-6 could be part of I-780 through Omaha NE

Nope it is against the interstate highway rules because it won't connect to 80 at either end, it can become business 680 from Westroads to Council Bluffs and 480 needs to be in Sarpy county the north freeway become business 480

this route 6 road surface is in such major disrepair through the whole county... there are decent ok sections (buttery smooth) but those broken ones far outweigh the good 8^( i loathe driving on this even with $1000s of all-new suspension parts... the elevated expressway is a bit over 20 years old now. perhaps almost 25 years of age and wear and weathered now ... stretch starting at 15:19 begins the best of what the big O has to offer... Chicago has MUCH nicer roads lmao

Dude I live in Omaha Nebraska and the elevated part was completed in 2005
