1. Serum sodium
2. Serum osmolality
3. Urine osmolality
4. Urine sodium
5. An assessment of the patient's fluid balance
Causes include:
Pseudohyponatraemia
Primary polydipsia
Adrenal insufficiency
Hypovolaemia
Oedematous States
SIADH
