Yes, Trevor Bolder was a big bass player. He played bass for David Bowie too. R.I.P. Rock bass player.

There are musicians and there are those who successfully pretend to be. Uriah Heep are musicians.

I lost touch with Heep for a while in the late eighties. Marriage, kids etc. I bought this album with a gift token received when leaving a job! It blew me away. In my opinion it’s the best post Hensley/Byron era material. Up there with the best. My favourite. Love is the one direction that leads to truth, knowing in your heart what’s right, you walk upon a sea of light. Says it all really😊

@@Danielkaas94 yes I like that album also. Produced by Pip Williams if I’m not mistaken. I think he took them in a more US radio friendly direction. Love the track question. As you can tell I’ve been a Heep fan for about 50 years!

saw these guys in 77, yes im that old but,,, it took me 40 years to learn that this is one of the greatest bands ever conceived. im re listening to their music once again and im fuckin blown away,,, its Incredible. this is the best music Ive ever heard. ever will likely....they are truly genius, the composition just blows my mind. young ppl, listen to this.... this is MUSIC...

l also rediscover them now after 40 years l didn't pay attention to them as well for Blue Oyster Cult after their first albums ,even l was a huge fan of both groups. Now l can liste to many many LP's they produced the last 40 years .It's a sort of time machine l'm in now......Good vibrations in these "end of the time'"days.....

This song, this album gives me shivers. Great band.

I too am a life long Heep fan. This is one of their all time best and puts to rest the notion that Bernie Shaw doesn't rank up there with David Byron and Joh Lawton. Each had their classics.

When I discovered Sea Of Light in 1995,n I was really amazed aty how the band had evolved again towards something closer to what they were doing in 1970 - 73... with a more modern sound (in terms of synths, for instance, but still couple with good old Hammond organ... Yes, there were orchestral elements, a progressive edge... and the huge high-pitched harmony vocals were back... It's really inspired, all along and this "ballad" is one of the very best songs of the album - Sea of Light is certainly one of my top 5 Heep albums ever.

I have always felt that with Sea of Light and Sonic Origami Uriah Heep rose to the heights of beautiful music again, comparable to the early 70s. This song is a masterpiece alright. sttgaegoaktd

A beautiful song, one off the many highlights of a wonderful band, saw them live twice, in 2006 in germany and in 2014 at Sweden rock festival, the show from Sweden is in my opinion one off the best shows of the band in all their long career and one off the best shows I ever saw in my life and I saw more than 500 shows, if you were there than you know what i'm talking about

@luciernagaval, you're right, I was only trying to be humorous, since I think that many of those unsuccesfull ones are actually doing their best to be recognized as such :-D Once upon a time musicians used to try to convince the world that they were GOOD and RICH in ideas. Nowadays they try to convince the world that they are BAD and POOR in ideas. Quality and inventiveness have become an extremely rare thing. That's what I think.

there was one cool song in this long playlist of their "best" but it was live and the other versions including the original.... kinda sucked. Which makes sence since the only guy i ever knew who was a guitarist a big fan also sucked but only as a carnival human with low morals and no sympathy for others including his one and only long term relationship/wife whom he left because she got cancer. sad part about that is that she was so incredible that i almost didnt want to hook them up. anyway... this song was ok/ a simple slow ballad which i always thought they would avoid but fairly original and musically grasping.

The Uriah Heep ended in 1980 when Ken Hensley left the group.
