I feel like you’re missing an opportunity on that water pump trailer. I’m thinking some of your basic hand tools maybe another chainsaw. Maybe some type of emergency flood lighting on it. Those hand held radios are cheap enough to assign one or two on the trailer. Just some thoughts.

Dear mr W was wondering if the power washer (works) it’s a brand, was on Amazon was thinking on using it as a portable extinguisher , I used it back when I was a maintenance man wasnt much of a power washer but it was extremely mobile it was battery and had a suction hose you can put in a big bucket. I was thinking of a backpack bucket idea if ya see in your mind where I’m going with it, I know it sounds weird but for cost effective dealing with fire but my question really is do you think there’s an even cheaper idea for portable cheap water set up???

A few ideas: likely overkill but to consider Flashlight Pulaski Rope Come along Pole saw (obviously wouldn’t fit in the box) Angie grinder battery powered Spanner for fire hydrants with appropriate fittings (handy for true emergency) 4 in one key tool for commercial hose spigots Water key Halligan bar (surprised you don’t have one in general tbh lol) Also, in general why did you reduce tank size, I feel like more water is always better and you have two trucks. Have you ever considered building a dedicated rescue cache? Ideas include rope rescue gear, water rescue gear, some power tools (sawzall, grinder jacks etc)?

I was going to comment that the blue tourniquet is intended for training use, but now I can't find any reason why it's not usable as an active tourniquet. However, maybe it's worth noting that blue is often sold (by NA Rescue, for instance) as a training unit, while their black or red/orange is considered for hi-vis/other usage. I see nothing that indicates it to be different than the others in functionality (it better not be, lest the training be less valuable.) Maybe the only useful takeaway from my post (other than algo engagement boost) is to say to people: DO NOT train with a tourniquet and then plan to use it to save a life. Only pack unused tourniquets on your kits to be sure they won't fail. I've never read/seen any other advice. You don't want the thing to break or fail.

Cody, we recently bought a new car and I was cleaning out the trunk and the tool box in the trunk from the old vehicle. I found 10 emergency road flares that my Uncle gave me back in the mid 1970's so they are about 50+ years old. They appear to be in OK shape, but I am wondering if they change chemically and "go bad". What is your opinion? I just ordered a dozen new ones, but I would like to hear your thoughts.

It is true, blue is used for training. But the blue ones are built exactly the same as the orange and black ones. (Black for military stealth and orange for civilian so its more visible to the medical staff). They should all be used only once... so the blue indicated that's its intended to be used over and over during many training sessions so ethically it shouldn't be trusted to save a life after being used (and potentially damaged or worn out) for training. So as long as he got the Blue one before it was used for training its perfectly fine to use.
