If you want to hear a great no frills rock album with simply insanely brilliant, catchy and memorable songs you are doing yourself a disservice if you ignore this record. It's simply fantastic on every level.

Such a brilliant genius record. I remember Urge touring with Pearl Jam in 1993 when PJ dropped Vs.! I was at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans and watched the guys from Urge on stage left watching Pearl Jam's set. It was such a fantastic night. What an amazing time the 90's were for music. What happened?!?!

Telecom Act of 1996 Is what happened. If you were in NOLA in the 90's, you must remember 106.1 The Zephyr which didn't stand a chance when Clear Channel moved right next door with the god awful 106.7 The End.

Go listen to the song “Puss” by the Jesus lizard and read the lyrics. The lyrics are about the how the singer of urge treated his one of his girlfriends back in the day. Decided I didn’t need to know much more after that

I was obsessed with this CD. I had to buy it twice. And even then I copied it to a tape.

the fact this song is now 25 years old scares the s-t out of me...like someone else said it was a shame that this band never really made it..I'm not a Chicago guy but these guys rocked big time

Happy 25th anniversary to one of my all-time favorite albums and bands!!! Here's to Ed 'King' Roeser recovering fully from his recent heart attack and to him having many years ahead to enjoy family, music, and life.

Saw Eddie Roeser in Litchfield, MN playing in an early band...about 1982. They played an original song that I wish I could hear again. We asked how they bought all their equipment and they all answered "Drugs Man"!

Some years after I kept wanting to remember what this was (I forgot) I couldn't look it up I forgot everything about the band except for the feeling. Like a splinter in my mind irritating the fuck out of me I couldn't remember among the million other things in my head then boom it hit me.

Met them at Shank Hall in Milwaukee. One of the best shows I've ever seen. The fact that when I walked in to the venue I nearly crashed into Nash doesn't sway my opinion one bit. And he liked the beer my husband was drinking, : )

I had this album on cassette...never saw them live but was a big fan back in the day...

I'll still knock out a cover of that every now and then. That little recurring lick on the tenth is as sweet under the fingers as it is on the ears.

@MisterID10T I don't know where all those years went eitehr. After this album, things went bad. Urge was a ROCK BAND in the truest 70s, rockstar, big hooks, girls and cars tradition. These guys were WAY more Cheap Trick, New York Dolls and Big Star than they were Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam....

EASILY the best album of '93.

DGC found another Nirvana, a pity this one didn’t even come close in terms of success. This album, Saturation, is amazing. Pure power trio power pop Cheap Trick for the 90s joy.

It was 70's in a very 90's way though. Fellow X'ers will recall that in the late 80's/early 90's there was a HUGE 1970's revival and it seeped into the style of dress and choice of heroin and everything. These guys just fit it perfectly. Saturation was a very well done album that they couldn't equal,however.

I really miss 93 94.....great great music.....but i would do a lot over and i could have been happier....i should have listened to UO more than Jeff Buckley....but UO, man....they will never be repeated. peace and love to them. great great rock.

When I want to hear that certain rock guitar tone, I always put on UO Saturated and crank it. These guys always hit their genre with a sense of a social era and cultural flavour.

Kato and Eddie get most of the credit, but.. Johnny "Blackie Onassis" Rowan on drums was a driving force behind their biggest hits.. His struggles with drugs cost him his job. Btw I'm thinking Danelectro Sitar...

When you stop listening to good tunes and tolerate "yacht rock" (like the Eagles)...you can feel old. Until then, you still have gas in the tank.

Unless the video is just raw, simple footage of the band performing the song, it pretty much sucks as a rule and does nothing but detract from the experience of the song. That's why I stopped watching them after the early '80s.

Its spot on an homage to late 70s early 80s New Wave Videos.

A rare example of a band who paid the dues for years and made their best album after getting signed. Saturation is a classic lp that still holds up. They have earlier stuff on Touch and Go Records--a crucial label that gave us Butthole Surfers best years, Big Black, Jesus Lizard, Man or Astroman? and so much more too stubborn to appeal to wide audiences. Killdozer, Didjits(could have been a major label band), Laughing Hyenas and more. Somehow Urge got a break and made it with a cover song in movie.

How many spins have I given this? Hundreds? Thousands? It sounds as fresh and energetic as the first time I heard it. Goddamn.
