I have been positive for both since winter last year. Since then, my life has been pure torture, I have almost constant burning pain in my urethra, not only when I pee. In between, it was good for weeks, but I still can't get rid of it. I have already taken 5 different antibiotics and still feel pain. I can't and don't want to anymore.

I feel you… i took an evvy microbiome test and even though i had 94.34% of good bacteria i also came up with small amounts of ureaplasma urealyticum, ureaplasma parvum, strep, ecoli, and bv bacteria. Even tho tiny amounts of those bad ones I am definitely feeling the effects. I have burning which is worse during and after peeing, an inflamed feeling, sometimes weird discharge and just discomfort. I feel like my life is over and that ill never be happy again.

@@DanielleRambo-yl1qe Until now, no. But a friend of my mother's, she works in the lab, has recommended that I build up my mucosa. She thinks that the mucosa is just already so weak in defense that the antibiotics don't really bring a permanent solution because I keep getting infected. The bacteria are not only transmittable through sexual intercourse. You can also get infected in the bathtub, because the bacteria are at home in the intestines. Everybody has them. Only people with a good immune system do not develop urinary tract infection. She recommended me Urovaxom for a longer period. 2 months or so. Also, Femannose is advisable. You can support your body with vitamin C and zinc preparations. I will try this now, maybe the tips will help you or others. All the best.

Update: The pain has improved considerably in a week or two, but it hasn't gone away. I had a cystoscopy and everything was fine. Nothing was found in the urine either. A doctor with additional qualifications recommended therapy as she thinks my body is warning me. I'm actually feeling very bad mentally, but mainly because of the year of pain. I will still do something for my mental health.

My urologist found Ureaplasma in my urine culture. People keep saying this is sexually transmitted but I did not have sex so I'm very confused how I got it. I'm a couple of days from finishing doxycycline and my symptoms come and go. I had about 3 days where i thought it was gone, but the burning (and slight urgency) came back off and on. This is so frustrating.

Can be also kissing, also its transimited at birth, oral sex, also its bacteria that lives on out bodies .. sometimes just happens due to stress it can overgrow

ive been struggling wit it since February and kept getting negative results for what they were testing finally a doctor tested me for this and did a biopsy for Lichen Sclerosis (it wasnt that either) but came back positive for mycoplasma genitalium, u parvum dna , and u urealyticum dna (i was told and believed to be different types of mycoplasma) and also positive for BV 🤦🏾‍♀️ no symptoms for any of it… expect the random itching and burning the doctor s would put off as a kind of yeast or candida… now have a sexual partner and i had to tell him and my dr advised him to get tested for it too… hes now paranoid about the bacterial infections… before all of this im 27 and ive had hsv2 since i lost my virginity at 18 that was something i had to tell him when we starting dating he was paranoid then but trusted me to let him know when i wasnt feeling well body wise. Hes been tested and everything is good but now this and im afraid he’s not gonna wanna deal with me any more bcuz i have too much goin on vaginally or he may think im too flawed. 😢but im glad this is something being talked about bcuz i see alot of people go thru it and bcuz im asymptomatic it seems scary asl

Actually broke up a week later bcuz of his paranoia. He had it as well so in his mind i gave him and std 🤷🏾‍♀️ even tho they said u can be born with it or have it all ur life and no symptoms could ever occur and it doesnt cause long term harm… until accompanied by another bacteria entering into its environment 🤷🏾‍♀️not a scientist just read up on it. Any ways u saw all the ones i had and he only had u parvum dna… so I believe he already had that bacteria in his system but they dont test for it, so how could uou know until someone says get tested for this so in his mind i gave him something… 🤷🏾‍♀️but my dr also told me to prevent it again have any new partners get tested for mycoplasma… but ur strong u gonna get thru…. Starts with the mind.

@@elizabethtara7658hey and yes I did…. I took the black and yellow Macrobid once they actually diagnosed me with it 🙄 it worked and I’ve been gone every sense …. My dr told me we have bacteria that live in us with they own little eco environment…. There’s different types and when we have sex those little eco systems get interrupted. So bcuz I had 3 or 4 types the “little ecosystem” is disrupted my vagina was on fire for months at a time but I believe it was a type of macrobid …. But I’m gonna look at my chart to make sure I don’t wanna give the wrong info it’s been a few years now

Be careful who you’re sleeping w. Doctors love to say this isn’t a STI. But if there’s only one partner & things like this keeps happening. SOMETHING is wrong. Men need doctors too! Specifically for their genitals!

@@DanielleRambo-yl1qe I had mycoplasma genitalia and i basically ended up doing two separate rounds of the meds. I still get yeast infections pretty easily so I have to be careful. I wash with dove hypoallergenic soap and I use wet wipes all the time now.

I have ureaplasma hominis, meaning my own body allowed the bacteria to multiply to high levels. I have never had this issue before. Is it because I am premenopausal? I have never been so uncomfortable before...the itching, burning, urgent need to urinate often...it is the MOST annoying feeling.

Can mycoplasma be treated during pregnancy?

I took my last dose of antibiotics a week ago and I still have symptoms. Does this mean I still have it or is this normal? Does it just take time for symptoms to go away? Anyone else have lingering symptoms after treatment?

I’m definitely in the same boat. Every time I have to pee I feel like I have to force out the pee-and even then my bladder STILL feels full. Very annoying. I’ve had this for MONTHS and finished the dose of antibiotics. 😭

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Ask your provider about trying another antibiotic levoquin. boric acid suppositories may help as well! Avoid using scented washes/detergent and staying really well hydrated. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately not many Drs care like you do. I've had these for nearly 20 years. The Drs around me refuse to test me for these. They all say there is no test for them. I'm so sick of trying but even more sick of having these symptoms. It's affected every single pregnancy and childbirth and now infection in mouth as well. If I can find a Dr that is willing to help me and do an actual vaginal swab..not a urine test..I'll happily get the funds to travel to come see you and will pay cash. Please help me!

I am a family doctor interested in women’s health and I’ve worked in quite a few different settings and it’s frustrating for me personally that I’m on the same page with everything you’re saying here and I’ve read endless evidence and studies on all of these topics Ureaplasma mycoplasma‘s role in infertility role in pelvic inflammatory disease role in abnormal pap tests however, as a patient I battle with a recurring BV everyone just wants to throw Flagyl at me and move on with our lives. It’s just the most frustrating thing ever, they literally won’t even listen to me even though I work in healthcare, they won’t even send the test off. I originally learned I even had this because I got an amazing OB/GYN who diagnosed this and found it by using a multi swab that looked for almost like a vaginitis or cervicitis panel, and when she found it and treated it it was great but I’ve had like a new partner since then and all the standard testing has been negative. I have doctors telling me OB/GYN‘s like I’ll drive an hour to see these people they’ll do a wet smear and tell me I have a mild yeast infection give me one Diflucan, and then I called back two months later saying I’m still having the symptoms. The woman doesn’t offer a second Diflucan or higher level testing. I asked for either, or she basically said to me, as if she was sharing her grandmothers cookie recipe this long thing about her boric acid protocol which I’ve been using and personally making my own Boric acid capsules since like 2010 after an OBGYN rx’d compounded suppositories (back then I had had two rounds of CDiff and had been missed diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and then ultimately correctly diagnosed with celiac and once I stopped eating gluten, I stopped having BV so it had been a while and I hadn’t needed the B. A. capsules but once I got back into the cycle of “altered pH” and dysbiosis because I had an abnormal pap I was going through a divorce so I’m reexperiencing this recurrent BV )and she’s acting like this is revolutionary. It’s just so frustrating when ureaplasma gets to a higher level in my system. It’s usually because I’m not taking good care of myself and my immune system is weak. Usually meaning I’ve been through it two or three times now endless work up, rolling out the easy things like positive wet, prep and i’ve honestly lost two jobs over it. Now I get really weak. I get kidney pain literally yellow discharge very very mild itching very very mild. I don’t even know how to describe it. Other than discomfort with urination I’ve had an 1 or two E. coli UTIs in my life, and I know what those feel like those are like full-blown obvious. It’s so frustrating because you’re a plasma hides and I take like time off work and try to get this taken care of because it makes me so fatigued, and dehydrated and low grade fever… and I go to healthcare professionals asking for help and they have this like ego like well. This is what I think and this is what I want you to do and I’m just like oh my gosh and I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I listen because I don’t wanna come off as that patient that’s googling things and trying to be a know it all but when I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt gone back to follow up and I’m still not better and you want to tell me about your boric acid protocol that I’m already doing I just want to give up. You might ask why don’t I go back to the smart OB/GYN who did the multi swab and also it was really interesting. She actually did a multi swab that showed normal everything like normal gardnerella normal ureaplasma, normal mycoplasma genitalium and so that was helpful and at that point, I had been recovering from an infection so I was real paranoid and I think I was just going through my body bouncing back after the antibiotics and a hormonal change that made me have mild symptoms, but nothing pathologic, but it was helpful to have that test that showed normal and get that feedback. anyways it was peace of mind and she was like everything looks good. Well then I had a new partner again I go back she does the multi swab and it shows I have ureaplasma BV so I even have like documented evidence that this is not “colonization” it’s a causative factor in me (wasn’t there when I had no pathology was there when I did have pathology) so she treats me and I’m like wildly better, you know lifesaver. Than a year goes by unfortunately she lost her license because they charged her with Medicare fraud. Something related with lab testing and it’s like really sad they were out to get her. She was in private practice not affiliated with the hospitals but one of the top doctors like delivering at the hospital, and she gave away so much free care. She never turned any patient away regardless of payment she took care of the entire Medicaid population. A lot of the other obis in our area, had like copped their Medicaid Numbers so I can’t even believe that she got in trouble like related with labs but yet her use of labs was so valuable to me anyways ever since like she lost her license Washington lose her license but she’s not able to bill Medicaid which she was at the end of her career anyways, and in private practice, and it was pretty detrimental to like limit her in that way so she saw her medical license she just can’t you know Bell Medicaid on so she stop practicing as a OB/GYN and she’s like looking for other work maybe doing a statics or some thing at but basically after she was gone I search for a new provider and that’s where I’ve encountered all these issues. One doctor literally just told me that since my wet crap Was normal I was fine and like wouldn’t do anything else that he did a urine culture and it came back positive ureaplasma, but it took so long to grow that. In the meantime, I had come back again and begged him to send off a specific PCR for mycoplasma. He had his RN call the lab and asked like what swab he needed to use and what carrier tube and things like that because he didn’t know anything about it and they ended up again doing a mycoplasma culture from the cervix instead of like the PCR so here I am like suffering for like 14 days And I see the result pop up as like positive urea plasma on the online system and I called the office and they were all like mesmerized, amazed whatever and he calls me in like seven days of doxycycline and I’m like this is my so I can’t go around with this like a nut. You know a two year. I’ve been suffering for 14 days like just getting worse by the day. As far as now I’m like full-blown kidney pain. I’m so weak and dehydrated. I’m like low-grade fever laying in bed taking ibuprofen and you’re gonna give me seven days in doxycycline?!?!

Girl these are very hard to get rid of. They go into remission and hide imo lol. I've been going through your issues for nearly 20 years. And I can't find a Dr to even do the tests you've had done. They won't help me at all. They just yes they have heard of mycoplasma and ureaplasma but that they are normal to have everyone has them and that even if it wasn't that there is no way they can legally test for it. Not that they know about anyways. They have no clue how to test for these things and likely no idea how to code it for the insurance. The govt and Medicaid and all the health insurance people at the top don't want these diseases discovered or treated. They make SO much money off of cervical cancer treatments, prostate cancers, UTIs etc etc. They don't want it getting figured out so they intentionally make it hard to test for. Back in the 80s other countries would regularly test for these right along with the usual STDs and then all of a sudden insurance stopped paying for the tests to be done. Refused to cover them. And they don't teach about them in the medical field and certainly don't hear from the CDC about them so they aren't aware of them.....especially the male Drs. I've been praying for 20years that female Drs would experience the same and figure out a way to make it more public and alert the public about these and make it to were the insurance has to test for them. Idk. I wish I could find a Dr that would help me.

Are you feeling any better ? I’ve been going through the exact same thing , they refuse to test me when I ask it’s so frustrating ! So many people carry ureaplasma mycoplsma , I heard it’s 70% chance getting one of the strains . Any partner of mine has to be tested or can’t risk it . I’m afraid to even be intimate again . I want to get a test of cure again . Cus I was completely clear till my ex cheated and it was a big ordeal getting it again. Is it some thing that just grow out of wack or is it strictly transmitted . Cus I’m fine if I’m not having a partner . But it is so common . After my divorce I tried dating and each time I got close to a relationship I would break it off cus they would give it to me ! This is a serious epidemic the medical industry is covering up .

issues with this for almost 10 years and no one could figure it out but my recent obgyn after other doctors acted like I Was crazy.

I have mgen and have been prescribed doxycycline for 14 day and ciprofloxacin for 7 days and still have symptoms. My pain is mostly in my testicles and ive been referred to a urologist in about two weeks . Can i be cure still? Im very worried about this because sometimes its painful to walk. The medication helped but when i was finished with the meds pain came back so im just fustrated i feel like my doctor isnt taking it as serious as me and i just want help. I hear you dude, the medical industry is a joke when it comes to dealing with this bacteria. They gave me 7 days doxy apparently ascorbic acid 30 to 100 ml a day ( pure vitamin c powder) helps and cream of tartar( three teaspoons there times a day) hope it all works out for you I am in a lot of pain from this - the burning is unbearable.

Can ureaplasma in men cause HPV in woman?

Im so pissed that apparently ive had this for 5 years and NOBODY told me, I keep asking the doctor treating me who found it and she kept dodging my question. Now its 2024 and they put me on azithromycin which only started working at the last day of my alotted refill to the antibiotic (12 days) and they refused to let me take it for another 6 days due to not wanting me to be antibiotic resistant(which is ironic because they pumped me full of 2 other antibiotics I didnt need when my culture tested negative for a uti , and now I have to take MORE antibiotics that are much more harmful to my body that my immune susyem will become resistant to just by taking it). Fluroquinilones literally disable people, I really dont want to take them. If they kept me on amoxycilin id be cured because it did start to work. It pisses me off so much that they never told me about this issue and make excuses as to why they didnt. Youd think they would want to check in to ensure it went away on its own.

Just been diagnosed with Ureaplasma and Streptococcus B, they gave me Amoxicilyn and Azythromicine together, the fuck! Asked another doctor who recommended staying on Amoxicilyn for a few days...this can actually destroy your gut.. These doctors, idk who to believe anymore, it's insane

I’m wondering, is it not recommended to get the urine test done. The testing center I’m getting it done with said culture collections are more accurate than PCR tests.

For retesting is it recommended to do the swap test or can the urine test?

I just got tested forUreaplasma urylictum. They tested me in November it came out negative they tested me during my pregnancy it came out negative they tested me after gave birth and it came out negative. I just got tested in July and it came out positive I need to know the incubation time because I think my boyfriend of 4 years cheated on me. This has destroyed our relationship and I just need to know more because I was raped August of last year but I don't understand why all these tests came up negative and then all of a sudden in July it comes out positive and I'm starting to get symptoms. ureaplasm and microplasm exist in the normal microbiotics of women. it can happen that they grow without any reason or infection by a third party (low immunity, stress, poor diet, use of aggressive detergents or in excess). doesn't mean your boyfriend cheated.

I’ve tested positive for ureaplasma and the doctor I’m seeing will only prescribe Azithromycin… 😞 she’s given it to me 3 times and my symptoms always come back.

I have an appointment on August 3rd! I’m going to request 21 days of doxy even though she’s already told me doxy isn’t a treatment for ureaplasma (when she said that I already knew it wasn’t true)

@@michaelaaguirre8668 i have doxy and azitromycyn at once. For 20 days .. So doxy is a teeatment. Its even in the manual of doxy .. i hope this will help me. Cause its annoying and atb are really destroying me 🙈

@@raquelalvarez781 it’s tricky u gotta do set of moxi levo n cipro bac to bac to be cured cause it all various on the bacterial load doctors won’t know that but this infection goes off A bacterial load n sometimes 7 or 14 days won’t work you’d need 30 days of it

Fun fact.... your going to wanna spend more time trying fluriloquone anti-biotics for longer periods of tine because urea and mycoplasma are more commonly resistant to tetracylines (eg doxy) and erythromicin (Azithro...family) be sure to argue with your health care provider.
