This building was supposed to house Chernobyl's 5th reactor and was being built before the accident. Construction stopped and the place was abandoned after the accident happened. The Novarka jacket is actually fairly new. Novarka is the construction company that built the New Safe Confinement arch they completed in 2016 to cover the old sarcophagus building they built right after the accident to contain the exploded 4th reactor.

They are definitely in Chernobyl. I've been watching them for years. They get to the top of this power unit and you can see the Chernobyl reactor #4 sarcophagus from there.

I remember when Cherniblyl 1st happened. I was in the 6th grade and the USSR didn't tell anyone about this for days. It wasn't until the radiation sensors when off in a neighboring Country that Moscow finally admitted to a melted down.

The water is nasty, but not radioactive. The plant was never used, and being below grade, not subject to fallout. Besides, this is not their first time there. They check for radiation, and carry detectors on them. I still wouldn't get in that nasty water.

Nice too see you guys again, at some places radiation is still deadly like the place were the fireman dumped their clothes in the hospital, that was blocked and somebody opened it again later and it was blocked again i believe, so going in a wrong room can make you very sick, but with detectors you can be safe. They did have a great diving suit lol kinda.

It was stripped before it was finished . Everything stopped at that site except for Trying to mitigate . These guys do use Detectors . They still might push the Boundries a bit . They are from the area and grew up in the Halo .

There were 3 operational Units and one under Construction . I think 2 were successfully decommissioned and Sarcophagus was built over the original accident scene which was encased in concrete . This area they are exploring has maybe slightly elevated Readings . Because it was a 1/2 mile away and many stories underground .

Chernobyl is so fascinating But the animals have adapted to environment . The Love canal is fascinating to .I love seening the places to .

You should watch a documentary on the melt down for this place. It was crazy. I think it was the fourth plant that melted down and the fith was still being built. But it was an operational plant and they had a full on emergency melt down. You still can’t spend more than a given amount of time there. A lot of people died and were contaminated during the melt down. Gave there lives to get it shut down. And many lived and died months later from the exposure. They suffered and died horribly. I’m not a expert by any means but I’m old enough to barely remember when it happened and I’ve watched a few things on it. But if u don’t know how long and how far away you need to stay from the main site.you should do your research before you go.

I watch them quite often. Super Sus is quite a silly fellow. You should see the other ideas they come up with, including powering the Ferris wheel at Pripyat with a motorized bicycle.
