    One of my shorter-term goals is to get swatches of every foundation I have added to a database where you can put anything you want side by side. I say shorter but with work and all... maybe by this time next year I'll have something like that started!

    I feel like foundation is like clothing - there are so many combinations of variables that you need options to fit your look and your mood! Maybe today you want light coverage and matte, and tomorrow you want full coverage and matte, but the next day you still want full coverage but dewy, but then the next you want a satin finish. It's our foundation wardrobe!!

  • @zoemoskal9700

    The swatches were super useful thank you for doing that! I'm between shades 11NN and 20NN (i mix the two) in the stay naked foundation but i was unsure what to do cause the shade range was more limited in this one if i should go for the 10 or the 20 in this - but seeing it swatched next to 20 in the stay naked and it's quite a bit darker definitely tells me i should go with the lighter one! And if it's too light i can just darken it up with a tiny bit of the darker stay naked shade. that's a shame this didn't work out for you - I do want to give this a try for myself tho so i think i'm gonna go for it as i do like dewy foundations but i didn't wanna get two shades in case I didn't like it obviously! So yes thank you - swatches were super super helpful!!

    So interesting this didn’t work for you! I just got it recently and it has very quickly become my favorite foundation EVER! There are about 5-6 go-to dry skin gals on here that I always watch their foundation reviews because we almost always agree on makeup and you have been one of the ones I agree with the most on foundations. I actually searched for your review on this before I bought it but couldn’t find it…but now I’m happy I didn’t see it first because I probably wouldn’t have bought it after watching! Hahaha! It’s always so interesting when that ONE foundation works for someone but not another when they seem to agree on everything else and their skin seems to be so similar. I thought it looked beautiful on you in the video but I know it’s also about how it feels and I’m sure it looks different in real life and up close. Anyway thanks for the honest reviews as always though Shelly! Sorry this one didn’t work out for you…

    Hi Shelley = oh dear I had high hopes for this one. I really liked the original naked foundation, but don't like the updated version on my skin (or the full coverage one). I have very dry skin with both rosacea and eczema, so a really hydrating formula is something I need. The UD complexion products have an extensive shade selection and the palest one looked fine on me, although it needed a smidge of colour correcting to make it a bit cooler for a perfect match (I'm really pink/white). I had hoped this would work and on camera it looked ok on you, but it really broke down and not in a good "faded gracefully" way. Perhaps a different primer? or using a sponge? Will wait to see an update. Best wishes.

    Oh how I miss the original Urban Decay Naked Skin!!!!! Every new product just reminds me they are a fail for discontinuing it - Ulta website has people complain it’s nothing compared to One and Done, which I never used, so I don’t know who this is geared towards. Side note I love Benefit Gimme Brow shade 1 and got Elf brow wow in taupe and there’s no color comparison - looks gray and ashy - need a color dupe, and I won’t switch until I find an exact color match.

    I really love your eye look! It seems like the best part of this foundation is that the packaging matched your nails...super cute. I was thinking about this foundation too. But I don't want anything making my wrinkles look more prominent. I have a pretty normal skin type that veers dry. I'm still a little curious, but I think I'll wait a little. I just did a much needed foundation declutter and I'm fighting the urge to buy new ones😄. Good luck with the rest of the addition. Is it weird that I like to watch the swatch part, just so I can say "1C1 Cool bone" along with you?😁🤷🏽‍♀️💙

    You could try using a sponge to smooth it out after applying it. I almost always do that, no matter what the foundation is. I typically apply with a brush and then go over everything with with a sponge to work it into the skin and smooth out the texture. My skin is more oily, but I've started to get dry, flaky patches as I've gotten older, especially since I moved to Colorado. Also, I know a little is supposed to go a long way, but it might help to use a little more. It's hard to tell on camera, but it almost seemed like it was dragging a little as you blended it out, as if there wasn't enough product. I love your videos btw. I've only recently discovered your channel, and I'm so happy I did. I wish I would've found you sooner! You're a pleasure to watch and are a close shade match to me now that I've stopped tanning and gotten serious about sun protection!

  • @goow

    @goow

    Thanks, Jesse! I'm definitely going to try this one with a sponge to see if that helps. Bravo on the sun protection - it's the key to everything and life!! I have maybe 2 weeks a year when I use self tanner (really just to see something different, kind of like how I get bored with my hair). :-D so almost all of my foundations will be in my "winter" shade (aka my "50 weeks per year" shade) 😂

  • @J_Mock92

    @J_Mock92

    @@goow thanks for replying! Yeah, I've found that the brush/ sponge combo usually gives the best of both worlds. You can get the coverage of a brush and then the smooth finish of a sponge. I self-tanned for years after I stopped using tanning beds, but got sick of the maintenance. I'll sometimes get a spray-tan for special occasions or if I'm feeling extra pale, but it's just too much work to keep it looking nice. I do red light therapy at a local tanning salon (never UV tanning anymore), so spray-tans are discounted, otherwise I probably wouldn't bother.

  • @KaraLey98

    @KaraLey98

    3 жыл бұрын

    APhiGrajah, for some reason, a few people here on YTube, equate shiny or dewy-"looking" (not truly dewy) with hydrating & moisturizing and therefore, good for dry skin. Usually these ppl are oily skinned or combo-oily and on their YT channel(s), after they try a foundation which appears radiant, luminous, dewy, or shiny, they Claim it's not good for oily skinned ppl but *perfect for dry skinned people* (I mean, who granted them a degree in "DrySkin"?). They don't even notice that the foundation is full of mica or some other pearlescent or glittery substance which is not in the least bit hydrating!! They just assume that if it looks shiny & wet it must be offering moisture and hydration. In reality, some of those foundations are extremely drying and they almost form a hard surface on your face which you could ice skate on!!! I feel like they should talk about what they know which is oily skin and leave dry skin advice to those people who actually specialize in it, (unless they are estheticians, or professionals) 😎😨😵🤗

  • @goow

    Hi Lulu! I hope you're staying well! I had some Lockdown Courage earlier in the pandemic and bleached my hair twice (not the roots, just the lengths), and then my dye that I've repeated a few times now is a half and half mix of Arctic Fox Purple Rain (a red-undertone purple) and Poseidon (blue) to make a more blue-purple. The blue fades first on me, so this is about 3 weeks washed out in this video, and it usually fades to a bit of a magenta and eventually a dark-blonde-pink, and then I dye it again.
