A really good video! As a filmmaker I cannot tell much about the slackline action in detail (which is probably world class - sorry, I'm not really into slacklining), but I can tell that the images are absolutely beautiful. You have a good eye for exceptional locations and angles. Actually the music didn't really blow me away, but ok, that's a matter of personal taste. Good work, thumbs up!

Is the setting of the tricks with spins and such: but drop, chest bounce, and back bounce similar to doing them on a trampoline? And would practicing them on a trampoline help with learning them on the slack line? thanks Hollis

  • @Worldoftomorrow

Of course it is not the same but still feels similar. But training on a trampoline will definately help to improve your slacklining and the other way round...

What is going on with Gibbons Slackline? Making video with people smoking like it is something cool. I love the company but it needs to review its standards in promoting drug use like its something cool or sport like. This is not the first video and not the worst video ether and that is sad :-( Gibbons should be promoting a healthy, athletics lifestyle not one with drug use.

  • @kurtistrego6093

They're not promoting anything. Some people smoke. There's no reason a good shot should be nixed for no reason other than someone smoking in the corner. Should they have shot in an area without graffiti as well just so you won't be offended?

  • @FelipeAdventures

its an official Gibbons Slackline video or at least it looks like one and extremely well edited, so if they are putting that shot in there apparently it is cool and they are promoting it. Graffiti with permission is an art without is vandalism completely different. Smoking is just a drug not an art so you should try asking an educated question!

  • @kurtistrego6093

Firstly, there's no need to condescend. I was asking that question to prove a point. I am plenty educated for my age. Is your problem the illegality of smoking? If so your argument about graffiti being an art form is invalid. "Graffiti with permission" doesn't exist. It is defined as an illicit drawing or scribble in a public place. But in an effort not to make this argument about semantics, let me say this: we both know that graffiti was not done with permission. You can't pick and choose between laws you agree with and expect to keep your morals intact simultaneously. Is your problem with the health concerns associated with smoking pot? Because last time I checked it's being legalized for medicinal use in multiple states in our country. It is not without side effects, as you'll find is the case with almost every prescribed drug, but has a much better benefit to permanent health risk ratio than most options when it comes to pain relief/relaxation. Also, I just wanted to mention that just because someone features something doesn't mean they endorse it. Does Scorsese endorse wife-beating? Does Aronofsky endorse heroin? Even if that weren't the case, like I said before, why should a director have to sacrifice a good shot because someone is smoking in it? You mentioned they have the ability to edit it... of course they do. But why should they? Because you want them to? People have different opinions on things.

Sorry I did not mean to be disrespectful or rude with you, I read again what I said and I passed that way on my last message and I'm sorry for that. I know many places that are legal to tag or graffiti in specific locations on the same token I know companies that have events every year and graffiti their establishments. But the athletes are not grafting so this is not relevant!! Truthfully I don't care if people are smoking and what they are smoking that is their freedom, as long as it those not effect anyone; however, when those that represents athletic companies such as those sponsored by Gibbons are using drugs (whatever that may be) then I have a problem because children and other minors looks at them as role models. Children wants to be like them and do whatever they do (good or bad) so they can be cool like their athletic role model. So in a way sometimes without knowing they are advertizing, promoting, endorsing and sponsoring behavior or whatever else; being good or bad. In my opinion no type of drug has a place in sports including in sporting videos. Sports has to do with health and drugs is antonym of health. So once again those athletes are being watched by children, the future generation, and by the action of them indirectly is misleading our children and teaching that drugs are cool and whatever other actions. Just as a side note to answer one of your question. I watched Gibbon competitions and I was able to film, photograph and hangout with many of Gibbon athletes and trust me I have some cool shots, so I positive the producer has plenty of other shots that he/she could use and easily leave out parts like athletes using drugs!!
