Man I love watching you work. Guys like me have learned a lot from craftsman like you and Dave Welch. I was able to do all my metal replacement on my 64 GMC just from your techniques. Time consuming for me but so happy with the results. Plus an amazing sense of accomplishment. Nice thing is acquiring the mig too that I always wanted.

1963 Chevy Trucks are in my opinion are the best looking trucks when I was a teenager my dad had a 63 small window stepside it fad a 327 with a 4 speed it had a hand painted screaming eagle on the hood it was one of a kind

Nice, I wish I knew these inner panels interchanged in the center, I assumed it would be different. I hand fabricated all of that area, 6-8" pieces at a time. Only really bad part was working on the knees. Nice work!

I have to do this with my 69...I'm hoping I won't have to cut the roof off, but if I do, I'm gonna try to salvage my original roof because it's still nice and straight, & those roof skins are expensive...great work as usual...it's great to see the man that inspired my build back in action! William Howard Scruggs from West Virginia was my uncle and he went by the name of Bob but he is long pass away his brother my dad was Floyd Leon Scruggs.

Cool 70's Mnt Carlooo man, one of my dream car's for many years. I have a good friend that has a Orgn on Blk w/Buckets factory 4 spd, 350 4bbl car. Sad thing he has it seating outside in the dirt for the last 8 years and won't let it go, so what was once a sweet 1971 is now rust city with weeds growing up under the the body and a female Ground Hog making it her home. I told him I'd trade my 63 C10 Short Box Steepside Deluxe Custom for his 71 but he just looked at me and said, "It's a factory 4 sp man lol" I said back to him, "It's a Rusted Out 71 factory 4sp lol" I can't understand folks like that, a great gentleman who has 20 acres of Vintage 1950's up to 1970's Car's and Truck's but let's them all rust away... Very Sad... Keep On Trucking Brother👍...

I'd guess it's one of Gibs natural callings. Gibs has a gift of Working with Wood and that gift gives him the patience and great work ethics when working with his Chevy C10's, that's just my opinion. Keep On Trucking Brother👍...

Lol I held my middle knuckle on the top curve of the roof then followed through with it, I’m in construction so I do this to plywood as well

Yes he did, he used his pinky as a guide on the top formed line. Plus Gibs is use to doing wood work and scribing a straight line is nothing new, Gibs can do that in his sleep lol... Keep On Trucking Brother👍...

I haven't done my 60 Apache yet but videos I've watched to repair the area above the windshield it's best to remove the roof cap to clean and coat it with rust incapsulator. It's easier to reach those areas too.

If I'm gong to be replacing pillars and upper windshield metal on a 63, it's probably a good idea to just go ahead and pull roof skin off for better access huh?

You can do some of this rust repair without removing the roof skin. Mine was damaged by tree.
