UPPARK
A fine late 17th Century National Trust house and its treasures set high on the South Downs with magnificent views. The fully restored mid-18th Century interior houses rescued Grand Tour paintings, ceramics, textiles, furniture and the famous dolls' house. Extensive servants' rooms shown as they were in 1874 when H.G. Wells' mother was housekeeper.
The garden is in picturesque style, primarily foliage, with flowering shrubs, bulbs, perennials and herbaceous plants in a woodland & downland setting.

An extraordinary achievement!
I remember when I was at junior school I think 1982/83 we studied Uppark House. I remember drawing it in my exercise book(I never could draw) but I always remember the sweeping front steps of the front of the house. Great video, brought back memories 😁.

We are visiting Uppark on Saturday, so this film has been extremely useful.
Fascinating how those meticulous timeless building & carving skills from hundreds of years ago can still be replicated today if we put out minds to it .
Extraordinary! If there was any doubt in my mind that they took the right action with the House, it has been dispelled by this video. It obviously allowed for young people to extend their skills. Thank God for the insurers stance that it could only be reinstated!
