If you are installing only the carrier, there will be a baby in the seat when you install it. So you will not be pressing down IN the seat, where the baby is. The pressure will need to be applied on the sides of the seat while getting the slack out of the seat belt.

When do you wrap it around behind the car seat too?

But if we push the carseat down, won’t that mess with the level? Like what’s the point of positioning the carseat in a way that’s leveled to the ground, and then push it down and make the line be crooked?

What do you do if the lock is not in the retractor-- how does the installation differ? Also, how can you tell where the lock is besides reviewing the owner's manual (which may not be a practical option if in a cab or uber)? Thank you!

You need the metal clip

Mine got lock sound but doesnt have a ratcheting sound and it wont tight :(

Is this same for airplane install??

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out! When installing this child restraint on an airplane, install the same way as Carrier Installation with Vehicle Seat Belt/Lap Belt Only Routing Method. It’s important to make sure that the aircraft buckle does not interfere with the belt guides on the infant carrier. Thanks!
