Just got back from an NCL cruise and it was 100% worth it. Go for the top shelf liquor every time. Take advantage of that Starbucks and Aqua Panna as well. You def get your money’s worth like that

@@lisagardner4814 Only? What about sparkling water? Is pelligrino OK? And what about top-shelf liquor? And the extra meals and internet on the Free at Sea plus upgrade? Do they count too? Am I allowed to value Starbucks?

Recently returned from an NCL cruise. I had premium plus and didn’t know Starbucks was included! I’ll know for the next cruise. Love premium plus for Prosecco and good sparkling wine along with Aqua Panna. Thx for the tips!

Can I go down and get two coffees cause I typically would drink two coffees in the morning, but I am only going to pay for one package from myself, I am cruising with my sister, who doesn’t mind buffet, coffee, etc.

Thanks for the review! We are doing an 11 day Prima and decided to get the Free at Sea PLUS which includes the Premium Drink package but also unlimited wifi with Streaming, additional specialty dining and $50 off 2nd person excursions and as we are port intensive we will have lots of excursions.

Thats a great new program we are going to do it on the Prima as well in Feb.

U2 are the only folks I know who had any drink package, & were satisfied with it,as even the adult non drinkers[of alcohol]in same cabin must buy a drink package,that is a rip-off in majority of cruisers opinions,as U can't share one drink package,it's a BIG Money maker for All Cruise lines that have those drink `Packages; I'm glad U2 enjoyed & got Your Moneys worth..as Drinks on Board All Ships are overpriced!..$35 glasses of Wine/Champagne?..why?..cheaper brands have same `effect' ..right? but thanks for Your opinions, it shows that not everyone complains about those`packages'...& of course:Bon Voyage! BTW: Lady You must imbibe LOTSA Coffee...& I mean LOTS![LOL!]

Yes coffee is highly consumed with us. NCL does include a free drink package. When we sail other lines we always buy one. You have to know pricing and how you drink to decide if it makes any sense for that cruise. Thanks for the comments.

Yes. Yes it is, especially if you do it as part of the Free at Sea Plus upgrade package. You also get MUCH better service from bartenders IMO.

Ice wine is not made with glaciers. Lol. The wine makers press the grapes after the first frost. Love you guys. Appreciate the down to earth reviews.

The grapes are allowed to freeze on the vine, and the ice that forms within the grape gets removed in the extraction process. This makes for a very concentrated juice, and generally (but not always) very sweet. Thanks for a great review!

Wow, my favorite is Veuve Clicquot and I would get a bottle with dinner and glasses at any time? If they have a cheese platter I would be wearing a beret by the end of the week.

Would you mind listing some of the wines you tried. I’m on the Gem now. Thank you. Great video.

All wines we had were awesome. Here is a list of what we tried: Clos Du Roy, Louis Jadot Chardonnay, Louis Jadot Pinot Noir, Simi Landslide Cabernet, Louis Raymald Chateauneuf Du Pape

I upgraded on my upcoming cruise. I think it will be well worth it. The package included unlimited Wi-Fi and 2 more specialty restaurants dining credits. I am really looking forward to it. I also like just the ease of use factor just get and order pretty much whatever you want. I personally will have at least 2 glasses of Yellow Label a day so I can feel like I am getting my monies worth.

I'm debating the same upgrade right now. I'm a bourbon guy mostly but even the upgraded package doesn't really include great bourbons, so the debate goes on. What is the charge for a bottle of regular water and/or what does a coffee cost at Starbucks. My girlfriend isn't much a of a wine drinker, sadly, but having the chance to have a nice bottle at dinner would be nice, even if it's mostly me drinking it. Great video, very informative.

Plain bottled water is 2.50/4.00 depending on size. San Pelligrino or other sparkling waters is 6.00. Starbucks approx. 5.95 to 7.95. Premium packages also include smoothies and fresh fruit juices too. Not sure on pricing on those, maybe 6.00

I'm a bit disappointed that they no longer offer the Veuve with the P+ package. Just Pommery Rosé now

We have sailed now 3 times with ships with Starbucks on them. Line was never more than 3 or 4 people.

@@wellagedcruisers5390 I've confirmed with other cruisers they do have bubly. They wont give you the can but they will pour it and it is included in premium package.

I select the beverage package with the free at sea because that is the only option the free at sea had that I wanted and why I bought the trip in the first place. I didn't need the shore excursions. I book my own. Didn't need the Internet or the meal. The guest service manager did offer to apply the beverage package to my account for $1,200.00. Would you pay that for 5 days of drinks under $15? NCL pretty much ruined a planned vacation. I am quite PISSED OFF about it. There were a lot of pissed off people on the Gem out of Venice on Jun 19th. I met 4 people that said the same thing happened to them with the free at sea. NO DRINKS. How about the couple that spent $1,400 for a private tour of Venice? NCL knew 3 months before the sail date that the Gem was not going to Venice, but they didn't inform anyone about that. Why would I book another trip with NCL after what happened to me? Why would anyone book another trip with NCL? There are a lot of other cruise companies out there that care more about the customer than NCL.

For as many top shelf drinks I would get while onboard, and that would not be many, I would rather just pay the difference when I get anything top shelf!

What about soda…does either package cover soda? I am so confused.

Yes both packages include soda, The premium plus adds bottled water, sparking waters, smoothies, fresh fruit drinks.

You never mentioned what the bottles of wine cost! The Premium Plus covers wine by the glass, but only gives discounts on bottles.

I booked Alaska on bliss in April and it’s $343 pp! Almost $100 more than you paid.

You will just have to decide if its worth it at that price. We just got off the Pr1ma. And to be honest it was a waste on that ship because we had a hard time getting drinks in general. We will talk about that more in our Pr1ma videos we post.

I booked on the Getaway in April 2024 12 day cruise to the Caribbean. I got the Free at sea pkg and paid $600 gratuities and they want me to upgrade to Free at sea plus for $1987.00 pp! That's Insane, they want another $588 pp just for the premium drink pkg. There is no way it is worth it at those prices!

Do they let you take the bottle of wine with you if you don't finish it?

Its up to you. You can take the bottle or leave it for another night. Doesn't matter where you eat dinner the next night they will find you.

You can get free water to go with your drinks by bringing a bottle and tipping your bartender when you drink, if you don't go with the drink package.

No and No....unless you just like to drink 24/7
