Upgrading the New TNEC skates (Fixing Clack and Turning Phat)

This is a rather difficult mod it takes a couple hours. The project difficulty is a 8/10. If you have any questions put them in the comments. I’m going to make a more detailed review soon. You can get the three-quarter inch screws at Home Depot and most skate shops sell razor hardware for the soul plates. Rollerblade blank hardware worked for the front six screws as well. I’ve been skating for a long time, I like Skates that have a solid thud sound. I use those clacking Sounds to diagnose if anything is malfunctioning. I still think this is a great skate for someone who has a wide foot and for someone who doesn’t want to worry about losing parts while skating. Also it’s perfect for beginners or really any skill level. I have to put foam pads and tape in every pair of skates I use, including them skates for clack sounds, so this isn’t a dig a tnec. I wanted to show everybody the modifications that I make because I do them often and I don’t film it. If you guys want to see more of these type of videos, let me know please, thanks for wathcing!!

Lasty I could not get any other soul plate on the skate. razor cult 1 piece, themskate, sway. None of those would work maybe a modern day Roces fifth element/Valo plate could fit.

Back in the 90s I couldn't afford good skates, I used foam flip flops for insoles and still wore 2 pairs of socks, completely removed the two inner wheels and bolted on a piece of steel c channel
Haha, love the drill sound effects. Never seen skates ripped apart before! Pretty cool and can definitely hear a difference afterwards.
Those 5th element cuffs totally make that skate imo. love how you color matched the wheels to it. 10/10 mod.
My firts pair was a 5th Element they was great. Know I'm on ST ninety. This DIY tuto is very cool 👍 I love this retro style, perfect 👍

You remind me of an air gear character. I remember when i would read the manga they got so into modding the skates One of the reasons i love skating so much. You can make them your own beast and then put them to action the way you want. Its so freeing!

They should def make a white cuff or beige cuff. This is a 27 year old roces cuff is so faded but looks so good

These came out clean! I recently bought some fifth elements in really good condition but the buckle strap snapped, this tutorial will come in handy. Do you know if the new roces buckle would work? Seems like they would fit

@@airdolphin fair enough g. I'll take your word for it. I keep hearing good things about the tnec, so I might give them a go as they are. The standard soul plate is so good, but the boot is a bit uncomfortable so i keep thinking of what other boots the soul might fit on.

@airdolphin even an old shirt tied around your face or something, just to stop the fine dust getting in your lungs! I think most people have old shirts they could use for this kinda thing, props on the safety glasses n stuff tho man that's a more immediate danger for sure, I got a metal chip/shaving in my eye once that was NOT fun!

The fact that Dolph did this shows the TNEC just don't cut it. Personally don't rate the TNEC at all being even a good skate. SO much better on the market for the same price but so much better quality.

They are a good skate I just wanted to experiment. Plus they fit better than the them skates for me. I usually have to cut holes in the side of the boot and drill out the whole front of the toe box of them skates but these have a much wider toe box. Also I put sound Dampener on every skate I have. even if they came with a foam pad on the souls I would probably still add more for a shock absorber effect.

@@airdolphin The foam idea is a great one, even for most skate. I am guessing you have either big feet or wide feed. Me I have super small feet of UK 4.5 so I pray for smaller skates lol. I do agree Them are hit or miss. I like mine but the soulplate is meh lol
