    If the regulators didn't allow landlords and speculators to borrow $$ down-payment from helocs and they did more to look into current mortgage borrowers income documents uncovering fraud....the rents wouldn't be so high and people wouldn't be taking advantage.

    Someone mentioned to sue the tenant board. I think thats a much better idea than getting a useless response from gov thru petition.

    @@fatfishfilms4569 yup, Ontario has successfully scared investors out of its own province, and building in ontario is a nightmare too, like as if they’re trying to scare you out of that industry already

    Perhaps try targeting Conservative MPs as they are less reliant on renters than the other two parties. Also pick those without a lot of renters in their ridings. Rural MPs are a good choice as almost nobody rents and they can make a name for themselves without upsetting their local base. Good luck!

    @@chrislaverick6413 sounds like a plan. You know just maybe there is more meaningful lines of work then collecting rent you know. I have ran operated half a dozen different business and not one of them did I collect a rent cheque monthly. Try it you might feel enlightenment.

    Imagine if you put all your life saving into the idea of being a landlord and ruin by someone is making poor financial judgements. Landlords did not force tenant to rent.
