Started playing USA yesterday. Definitely unique and that gives aoe3 a crisp new feel. This immigration card system is one of the most interesting factors of the new civilization

Yeah, I've been messing with those 2 cards since the US release. I'm not very good mind you, and the Chinese bugs aren't helping. I like the cards though.

Help. I can't use the Russian blockhouse card. Once I set it up, one blockhouse replaces my barracks hotkeys. I can't toggle between barracks and blockhouses with the hotkey anymore. It appears they tried to make the hotkey move to both by removing the separate blockhouse hotkey, but it failed.

Trading post wagons in general seem to be bugged. I had the same issue when using wagons generated at my State Capitol in offline skirmishes.

I started playing them as a defensive turboimperial through texas. Automaking units from 3 forts + 2 factories on cannons is extremely hilarious. Just too much free units. I also am a fan of the 2 arsenal build as well with the free upgrades. Just all the discounts are amazing but honestly USA just seems like an antimeta civ until you go imp around 15 minutes

I'm thinking for the British immigrants that it could be used similarly to the British estates card. An inclusion in case you decide to use the california revolt. Not saying it will be good, but its an idea to test.

Currently, you can go over the villager limit by sending the auto-generation card. I don't think that was intentional. Also when you cancel the Poker shipment it refunds your resources and shipment but doesn't cancel and you can use it as an instant win button. Spam cancel then spam the card. Thousands of coins and hundreds of pop cost of mercenaries, when combined with the faster shipment federal card, it is simply crazy ass levels of broken and needs to get fixed ASAP.

So is Lewis and clark expedition not good? Like the way I thought about it was that if you send that as your first card and you see all the treasures on the map that would be a huge advantage. If big Jerome is on the map, you know where he is and can beeline him. Courier de bois? Know where he is too. Need a big wood or food or coin treasure? You know where all of them are and can grab them right away, which also denies them from your enemy.

I think this card may unfortunately be a bit on the weaker side, sounds good in theory, but comes in quite late and just doesn't give enough compared to French Immigrants.

The trading post bug happens with most trading post wagon/travois/rickshaws. It needs attention from the devs

TP wagon/rickshaw bug can, though this isn't a solution, be mitigated by spamming the shit out of your right click button until it breaks. Fiddling isn't necessary.

I reckon statehood to age up faster plus Indiana age up card is worth it for free Age 4. Especially having sent in Virginia state Capitol free research and got cheaper wagons to make two cheaper TCs.

I think the Russian immigrant card is only an A tier in regular games not in treaty. It would for sure be a D tier in treaty because by the time you send that card you've already gotten majority of the hunts on the map and the 2 extra outposts aren't useful since USA already builds buildings very fast especially in the generals flag radius

Yes it’s awful. So I’ve become more conscious of where my buildings are placed and where trees/shallow waters/other objects are. Use it to your advantage as much as possible. And never send an army to walk over a trade post. I lost a game because 30 villagers were bugged/stuck on trading posts lines hahaha.

I build a TP off 200 wood, chop 100 for house send Chinese immigrants to get 2 more TPs. - capitalism 2nd shipment - Irish immigrants at 4:21 If you age with 14 villagers, age at 3:30, you’ll hit age 2 at 5 min and 3-4 trading post + capitalism + 4 villagers. Could be strong? I wish I was better at the game to really test this build order.

The "Landsknecht" is harder. It starts off with Lands which is hunts except starting with an L, then you have the tough k into n in quick succession, then the ch is a sound you don't even have. Some Americans try to replace it with a k, though using a sh instead sounds even better imo

Yeah, all the back to back consonants in German are kinda hard for me to pronounce, and I'd assume other native english speakers too. I know I'm saying it wrong when I say it "Landschnecht" but I can't say all those hard consonants back to back without slowing down significantly.

US still looks too powerful to me. They can produce 28 experience 60 damage mercs with 7 speed on Age 2, have banks and factories on Age 3, can have more factories, more saloons, more cards in a deck, and can emulate the unique abilities of almost every other civ, can upgrade for free at arsenal, and can take over the whole trade line with a card almost for free... How is this even close to balanced?

To be fair, you are paying 350 gold for that bank, and choosing a more greedy play over say 700w (at that time) or another shipment. British/Lakota can ship 5 villagers for free and is more versatile than a bank. Cards like 8 villagers in age 3 is better than a factory (if you’ve secured map control). USA is all greed and that has a downside, if you leave them to their own devices, they’ll snowball you. Even the meeting house card is half a bank. I totally agree with the XP though, minutemen should probably be more expensive, there’s definitely things that need to be nerfed.

@@johnlocke4715 You bring up a fair point to a degree, in the sense that settlers can replicate the actions of a bank or a factory and are more flexible indeed. However, banks and factories don't require constant micro or apm, and don't eat up population spaces, allowing the player more freedom to focus on battle and allow for faster large armies with less houses. That is my evidence to posit they are unbalanced.

@@vladimirlagos2688 Yeah I would totally agree with that too. Plus there's so much more we could say as well, like you said the free arsenal card. I don't like civs that promote base-sitting (US, Swede, Japan) it's really frustrating.

@@johnlocke4715 USA doesn't get advanced market card. This card is only half as good as advanced market. The free upgrades come with a big opportunity cost of an age 2 card. It can kill you if you're rushed and if you wait until the end of age 2 you have set your economy back at least 8 villagers waiting for the upgrades.

this video reminded me of the fact that united states was a nation that was formed by many groups of immigrants. But karen nowadays likes to say: "Go BAcK YoUr OwN CoUnTry." to non white american lmao, even to my red indian friend
