Fun fact: The pan flute (and also pan pipes) are named after the greek god Pan, who is the greek god of travelers, the wilderness, Shepherds, and MADNESS. He is said to scream in the woods and any who hear his scream will enter into a state of fear and insanity, this is where the word "panic" comes from.

Deltarune really amped up the song complexity; I’ve tried to recreate Field of Hopes and Dreams, and it’s astounding how densely layered that song is. That song is mixed like it was made by someone who makes music for a living, and releases a song once every few months. In that song, the bassline alone is made up of three or four different instruments playing the same notes on different octaves. The lead? Two pianos, panned left and right, playing different components of the melody, and occasionally a center piano. With the drums, I have no idea. There’s kicks/snares/hats, but then there’s bongos somewhere in there, what could be a cowbell, and who knows what else. Deltarune’s songs don’t sound like a melody as much as they do like… an experience? Another example of what I’m talking about is the beginning of this song; the pan flute + piano is really the sum of its parts, in the same way that FoH&D feels. Isolated it sounds totally different, and when you put it back together you can *barely* hear the individual instruments, yet everything is playing an important part. Undertale’s soundtrack was fantastic, but Deltarune’s does show true compositional growth. Listening (a few times) to ‘Shop’ from UT and then to ‘Lantern’ from DR gives you a pretty good idea of this. Edit: I downloaded the project file for the recreation this person did of The World Revolving… holy shit this song is ridiculous.

So the beginning of the drum track sounds like a rhythm with the hi hats the kick and the snare and they mix in a few rimshots The other part sounds like double kick with an open hi hat and just like a basic metal/rock groove

the isolated instruments sound amazing, i've heard that video so much that i keep thinking each part into my head when another ones plays to try make the song again, like imagine strings 1 with flute 1, or the drums in the beat, is so nice. i also like put where the attacks fits better in the music. - 2:00 i feel like the spin spades attack of jevil fits better with this part of song. -3:31 jevil first attack -4:12 Jevil's knife. -4:55 Final attack -5:36 this gives me so much nostalgia with toontown, but i also imagine 2 attacks for this one, spades bomb, and Chaos bomb -5:56 Quick spade circle attack 7:38 this fit in any person on his first attempt through Club, Devil's knife, Chaos bomb, quick teleport jevil and 3 balls attacks.
