You get the buffs from owning the ornaments so it doesnt matter if you display them or not. But when you reach a week where the ornaments are repeated, you earn ornament frags instead of a 6th ornament. These can be used to buy ornaments similarly to how you buy anthill skins or they can be used to upgrade how many ornaments you can display by starring up the ornament building
