It's not as bad as it looks. I graduated in 2006 before most of the buildings around the arena (including the stadium) were built but most of the buildings south of there are basically the same as I remember with a few new buildings squeezed in like the physics building, classroom 2, and psychology building. The easiest way to find your way around on campus is to remember that the campus is laid out in concentric circles with the inner most circle being the student union. Most of the classroom buildings and colleges are in the inner two surrounding circles and housing and parking garages are in the outer "circle" surrounding those. Take a look at the satellite view of google maps and you should see what I mean. After a week or so on campus of getting your bearings you should be fine. It's mostly just getting used to a new environment. The one key thing I will point out is that because the student population is so large timing is everything. This applies to everything from parking (i.e. parking right before a popular class time starts is usually a nightmare) to getting food (don't think about chick-fil-a right at lunch time). If you expect those things and learn to time things (get there early if you drive, eat a little later) you can usually do everything without too much trouble.
