You may want to consider that everything in the abandoned cabin could be contaminated with mold spores. I would not donate any of those items unless a contamination expert can tell you how far mold contamination may have occurred. Better safe than sorry! ✌️🐾🇱🇷

You could also paint everything that you salvage... there is paint that will seal in the mold and essentially stop it from growing or spreading anymore.

Yes, it definitely needs to be completely gutted back to the studs. Also, take a good look at your floor joists - minimum of 2x8 - as well as the pilings that support the cabin - make sure none of them have been heaved out of place by the ground freezing. IF all of that is good, then you have something to work with, although you would need to redo everything - siding, insulation, windows/doors, flooring, etc. The studs look good so you have a lot of good material there, which will reduce costs later when you are able to do the work. If not, take it apart, saving as much of the studs/joists as possible and rebuild it. At least then you can know you have a solid cabin that is dry and will be warm. Remember, there is no such thing as a quick "fix!"

Sir: There is no doubt that the cabin exterior needs a lot of TLC before you do anything else. Wrap exterior with Tyvek homewrap and then install something like LP SmartSide 38 Series Cedar Texture OC Panel Engineered Treated Wood Siding on walls, and probably the roof needs to be water sealed as well. OSD panels are not waterproof. So this needs to be done soonest. The longer you wait the worse will be the damage as you can see what happened so far as water soaked thru the panel edges. It's a shame it was not done earlier. Good luck as this will take a lot of time (2 or 3 times longer than your original plan) as a DIY project. Also, best wishes on the new baby!!!🙂😊

Thanks for taking us along again. I didn’t realize it took you 30hrs to edit these videos. I love them though! Definitely keep the Pampered Chef Cast Iron I have that and it’s in great shape from what I can see. It’s $55 plus tax & Shipping! You can heat it up to 500* just don’t put it on a grill otherwise you can cook it in everything else. Love those little 3 different size baskets. Harrison was so excited 😆! I think he thought it was Christmas again!😅 Such a sweetheart. I asked about your address. I’d love to send for the baby for sure but Idk the gender or what you need. Why don’t you put an Amazon wish list and Target so the subscribers that would like to buy knows what you’d like. We just had a virtual baby shower for the other Alaskan family that lost one of her twins. It was fun and certainly helped out. I hope you don’t think I’m being pushy just would love to buy and watch you open up the gifts! My husband is in building and I’m going to show him the cabin and see what he thinks. From what I know I believe it’s salvageable. Everything is so expensive to start over. Also I have the information on your airstream and right now I’m going to say 1969-1984 but I’ll have him look at that too. Let us know what happened to your cabin when you got home. Oh my goodness 😮who would be out there?

Ha ha yes Harrison loved opening everything 😆! We don't know what we are having. We decided to not find out the sex. It is a surprise! We would be so grateful if you sent something for the new baby. That's very thoughtful 🥰! Please find our address under the description. That's so sweet you did that for her and would be fun to do. Will definitely have to do that. We will post our baby registry this coming Sunday with our new video 😊. We are hoping to salvage some of the cabin bc yes it is very expensive to start over. That would be awesome if he can take a look at the cabin and airstream. Thanks so much 😊! Oh we were just joking at the end 🤣! We weren't robbed. We were just having fun bc the cabin needs so much work, but thanks for caring and asking 🥰!

Ok I’ll have him check it out and see what he thinks then you can get something to think about. Oh good glad you’re going to put a registry up so we make sure you get things you need it or want. Once the registry is up do you mind me announcing it that way we can get started on it then we’ll get a date to have the virtual baby shower? Looking forward to it!🥰

Hi, I am watching from North Pole, Alaska here in the -40 degree zone today. I am a senior in my early seventies and have lived in Alaska for a little over 50 years. Where did you move up from? You definitely got yourself a classic abandoned shoestring build on your hands. There should be a lot of usable material but I''d advise you to get rid of wet insulation and get something to treat the mold. I would lose the death stairs and the room they go up too. Someone was smoking something when they built that place. I will keep you in my prayers for a safe birth of your new one. We have two girls in their early thirties. Children are a blessing (most of the time)! Take Care, Dave S

Me having a cabin like that and having a Baby, I would want to bring down the walls and construct new everything, I also believe you might waste less money since everything will be new. I think it’s better than wasting money on chemicals to cure a mold wall or anything you might find there..

Quit acting like the cabin is junk and you want to tear it down. That would be just stupid Don't throw money away.1st thing to do is wrap the outside of the house Then clean the cabin out scrub it down goodAnd start rebuilding it..... As far as the old trailer in the backyard goes Your old lady was talking about junking that don't you let her do that somebody will take that old trailer and rebuild it you can get a couple of grand from somebody for it.... Believe me there are people out there that.... For god's sake quit acting like the cavity is too much work You can't be that lazy
