I’m currently doing this challenge now. My hair has lasted 4 months before but I’m pushing for 6/7 months this time. I oil my hair every other day and wash my hair ever 2-3 days. To each’s own. It took me 4 years to figure out how to grow my hair and this routine does. My ends are tucked away and I don’t wear wigs all the time so I don’t have thinning edges. I’m currently going into month 3 so I have 3-4 months left. Everyone’s hair doesn’t lock and everyone doesn’t have to not wash their hair to grow. Everyone just do what works for you!!

It works ! Just remember to occasionally shower so the steam can get to the hair with out getting it wet ! And before you take down saturate braids with almond oil

I just watched this young lady remove 8 MONTH OLD cornrows from her hair! The growth was INSANE and the shedding was what it was supposed to be! Oh, and she did NOT wash one single solitary time while in those braids! She is 4b (maybe some c...not sure). She detangled in 2.5 hours!!!

If she woulda washed her hair or put water on it during that time it probably wouldn't have taken so long to detangle.

I'm on a conrow hair challenge for 3month my hair whas so matted and tangled lot of knots and buildup i left myne for 1 month and I'm on twist now 2months left 🙏

Interesting. It’s a lot of products, how do you actually determine what works and what doesn’t?

Very beautiful 🌹 how many inches did you retain after the take down?

I wear wigs over my braids without damaging my edges: I remove all those little combs in the wig. Then I get a weaving needle and thread and sew the wig on. I just do one long piece of thread around the perimeter of my head. I don't do any fancy stitches or tie knots. After about 7 days it's loose so I just pull the threads out to redo or to take the wig off and wash my braids. By the way I leave my braids in 4-5 weeks max.

I like mini braids as a protective style. They cornrows are hard to wash your hair with. Even by letting water run on your hair, it doesn’t seem like it would be clean, without any conditioner. But if you use the water for hair growth. I’ll try it with mini braids. Thank you for this video.

Where did you get your headwrap/turban?

That's why I don't leave my braids in more than 3 months.

LADIES USE DETANGLER TO TAKE DOWN

I'm watching I got my cornrows the 16th of this month I'm going to let mines stay for 5 I be watching and condition every to weeks

I just do the two cornrows and change it every 4 to 5 days moisture it and re do them again finger detangle. I noticed that the hair gets brittle and prone to breakage if you leave it for to long. You can do 6 month challenge but re do it every week or 5 days don't comb it dry. God bless stay saved.

I am doing the same. But take out my hair once a month. I Wash every 2 weeks!! The hair will start locking after 3 months..take down hair!!

I been looking for videos but ppl are saying different things. What is best to do. I started yesterday. I want this to be my own challenge for 2 months. Yes you can use it

Instead of cornrows you should have use braids. I kept medium braids for 5 month and it didn't matted at all i was shocked i thought my hair will matted but none even though i checked it twice on month 3 and 4. By unraveling half of 1 braid when i saw no matting at all i was like nice so i installed mini twist now am going for 6 month. Will definitely check the twist coz am scared of them more than braids but i will be unravelling my hair 10 april 2023 as that day my hair will officially be for years 😂

Why don't you keep a protective Style for 45 days;take it down and do a length check mark the length check on your shirt and put your hair back in a protective Style for another 45 days and do another length check again and keep repeating that process.

If you heard me right l said if l have a protective style in l don’t wash regularly because l don’t want my roots to tangle which causes breakage when lm about to takedown. I only use water to clear my scalp of any dirt

6 month protective Style = dreadlocks
