My Dad was in the army when I was a child, and we moved around as dad was deployed. I had a small wooden box that was my doll house (it was more like a doll room than house)...but no matter where we were, I could open the door and have something that was mine that wasn’t always in a state of turmoil. 50 years later, I still wish I had that doll house. It disappeared somewhere between Fairbanks and Fayetteville....

Love the doll house. You show it as a hobby, not a toy. Wallpaper one wall in a room, then it’s an accent wall. I find all Asian art depicting westerners with big heads and big eyes spooky, so it’s not just you Carlos. 😊😊😊

Way back when, I wallpapered the living-room in a daughter's doll house. She loved the funky wallpaper that I made with bright color markers on a linen paper. Sometimes the wallpaper is actually a piece of fabric that really struck me. I've always decorated one room with wallpaper in each dollhouse we've made for family or friends.

Love the doll house Arne. Wall paper would be so cool. Maybe put the wall paper on a very thin piece of wood or heavy cardboard so it can be removed with ease. Carlos, I agree with you, I've always been creeped out by dolls. That eye changing doll is going to give me nightmares. OHHH, Arne. you need a little Freya for the doll house. Love the doll house updates.

Hahaha, they ARE spooky, you are right Carlos. :-D Remind me a bit of Chucky in the horror movie, lol. I think it is the most charming thing to see you guys "playing" with your dollhouse. Gee, I wish I had such friends to play dollhouse with when I was a little girl :-D This really wants me to make my own dollhouse now. I do love dolls very much and I have many of my own. I make them out of fabric. I also make dolls dressed in historical clothing, medieval clothing. I have two knights and a swiss guard and of course 2 princesses and a kalifa who looks like Aladin from Baghdad. :-D Then I have sewn stuffed animals and also gingerbread dolls and bears and so on. Yeah, one is never too old for dolls. I am 54 now, lol. Can`t wait for the outfit you will create for the japanese doll. You know there is a very interesting episode out on japanese dolls on KZread. It was aired in one of the "Begin Japanology" series: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g4efzZqzp9XMg5s.html

Thanks for the update! I made a miniature 1920's style dollhouse kitchen that I set up each Christmas (along with all my other toys) and I put in wallpaper. Of course I put the little kitchen in my own kitchen, along with a lighted garland I hang on the wall. My grandchildren like to help me hang dollhouse-sized kitchen ornaments on the garland-- like a skillet, a rolling pin, a muffin pan, little cookie cutters, etc, along with tiny tartan ribbon bows as well. I would like to see a light in each of your rooms, and maybe one room in wallpaper. But I do love the painted walls you made. Part of the fun of a dollhouse (or a room in my case) is the imaginative thoughts of what goes on in that miniature world. And for me, the rest of the fun is making things to go in it. And THE HUNT for new things-- always fun! Someday I'll make more rooms, but for now my Christmas kitchen will do.

🥰💕Love all your videos! So excited about your dollhouse update! I’m working on my current dream dollhouse. The first floor is a quilt shop, with a coffee cafe & a cash wrap room with unique gifts. The second floor is a yarn shop. Also a private owner suite. The third floor is a secret library filled with books & antiques! I find tiny unique treasures in all my travels. The term is called “Functional Fixedness” meaning finding function in objects that can be used for another purpose! I found a detailed mother of Pearl quilt star inlay wood box & used it as my quilt table in the quilt shop. I’m love the art of miniatures. I suggest you crest a new dollhouse with the right scale so you can find the right size treasures for your next dollhouse. Make one big mansion so you can decorate many rooms together. Imagine all the pillows & Hygge blankets & curtains you can make! It’s a dream dollhouse for sure. Please let me know if you like my dream dollhouse? So looking forward to your next dollhouse. Maria from Millstone Township NJ 🥰💕🧶🧵👍👍

HI GUYS..my heart skipped a beat when I saw what your topic for discussion was today. I just love your doll house and so want one of my own. The Japanese dolls are pretty cool. Without being unkind, they seem to be modelled on the physiques of some of the top models and footballer's wives here in the UK. They are stick thin and have 'bobble heads' (heads that seem oversized for the tiny bodies) because they are so skinny. I can't wait for you to dress them. Love love love the furnishings and furniture and what makes everything extra special is that the objects have a story to tell and the eclectic mix is fascinating. It would be great if Freya were to appear in miniature form , with food bowls and blankets/doggie bed and her toys?? Perhaps the Volkswagen can be parked outside the house? The ultimate would be to collect enough decorations that may be rotated to reflect the seasons and celebrations over the course of a year. Thanks once again. xx

Hello gorgeous Arne and Carlos, I just absolutely adore your doll’s house, it is fabulous. Carlos I do find Blythe a little scary, my granddaughters are still into Barbie, they didn’t like Blythe for some reason. Dolls patterns would br wonderful. You both light up my Sunday evening, it is so dark and gloomy here in the U.K. I think one room wall papered would be lovely to see. Arne I think you should paint the furniture and a big well done on your introduction and your conclusion to your vlog. I love you both, you are fantastic. You two are absolutely wonderful! What a charming doll house!! Thank you for sharing, especially the stories of some of the house goodies you have obtained on your travels. I love the idea of an oversized wall paper in one of the rooms playing with proportions. I have many Blythe dolls, so yes I love her in the doll house. I love the play on proportions with her "oversized' head in the house. A note about the "disco" (too cute!) Blythe doll body. Her hands come off so you can dress her more easily. You want to hold her forearm and then firmly, not rough, slightly twist a little bit and pull. Sometimes they pop right out, I have had some be stubborn so you may need to pull a bit harder. Just make sure you have a firm grip on her forearm so you don't pull that off as well. I usually have Blythe lying in my lap to support the body when I remove that hands for redressing. After dressing the hand will push right back in. On Aliexpress you can buy different hand styles so she can be holding something or making a peace sign etc. Blythe Homes on Aliexpress is a good store to start if you are interested in your doll having different hand styles, or just do a "Blythe Hand" search. This video has inspired me to build my own doll house. I have always wanted one since I was a kid, but never cared for the plastic ones. Thank you again for sharing your doll house!! Be well!! :)

I am partial to wallpaper; however, it's harder to change out when you're in need of a change. My goodness, if you're going to build another doll house to fit dolls' proportions, you'll be building in perpetuity! There's probably a very good market for knitting doll's clothes. I'm basing this on the amount of doll's things we sell at our store every day. I don't have granddaughters; so, I don't know how popular those two dolls are in the U.S. I'm not a buyer. But, marketing to the grandparents is advisable. Thank you for another great update!

I have a dollhouse and LOVE that you do too. Instead of painting the brown furniture ( which could become antiques one day) you can do things like, sew /knit a tablecloth to change the color. Make pillows for the chairs/couch. Curtains for the windows. I used two pins to knit a shawl for one of my dolls ( 1inch=12 inches ratio). There used to be a KZread about the lady that made all the sweaters for the movie 'Caroline' that I found very inspiring. Looking forward to more Dollhouse episodes.

Carlos, I wish you well with the medical care you will be going through. Relax while being poked and pinched. Being a creative thinker perhaps you might escape and dream of a book about the two princes and their adventure, told simply. I enjoyed that Christmas story so much. It was so imaginative the way you both expressed it. Each Prince being different persons solved their unexpected problems together and made it through a hard day. Its nice when we can look back and laugh at old problems. Your dry humor is much appreciated along with Arne's smile and giggles. Thank you for the happiness you share.

I love the doll house. I am making a doll house from boxes following the Mouse mansion doll house. Yes wall paper the house..it will be lovely. I have a Blythe and am working on customizing her. Knitted clothes would be wonderful. There is a large community of doll lovers who rescue dolls from dumps and charity shops.

I think it's beautiful. What I like the most is the stories behind it--it's Arne's & Carlos' diminutive adventure. Most people spend so much on pre-made decor for doll houses, which is fine for collectors, but your doll house doesn't conform, which is fun.

When I was a child my friend and I loved troll dolls. My mother suggested we make them houses. We used boxes for the houses and decorated the rooms with old sample books of wallpaper and paint cards. We made all the furniture and wall hangings, rugs, etc. It is one of my best memories. The Blythe dolls are a little strange, but no stranger than troll dolls and they need their own homes too. ❤️

I LOVE the dollhouse (and the Blythe's) -- I would use fabric and liquid starch to "paper" the walls -- that way if you want to change, easy to remove and doesn't damage painted finish. I've used it many times on apartments where you weren't allowed to wallpaper and I've used on cabinet doors to add a pop of color without committing to permanent change. Holds like glue but peels right off. :)

Squee! I collect Blythe dolls, among other dolls, so I'm so excited to see a few in this video. Yes, making for dolls is a big deal in the Blythe community, so I encourage you to create patterns for them. I'm knitting challenged (I make lots of garter stitch rectangles and triangles), but there are many who knit for their dolls. To help change clothes on the fake/factory Blythe dolls, you can pull off their hands. It will probably freak Carlos out, but just pop them off, change clothes, and then pop them back in.

I can see why they would be popular, but they are not what I would choose myself. Their houses dresses are lovely, makes me want to knit one for myself! Hehehehe.
