Update - Attaching My Fabric Pieces and What I use - Slow Stitching as a Beginner #slowstitching
I am making a slow stitch thing, not quite sure what it is going to be yet, just enjoying the process. I did do a video showing this before but I have decided to attach the fabric with iron on wonder web hem tape. Just so it stays in place a little better. It got a bit frustrating trying to keep in all in place properly with either pins or tacking it down. Maybe get a little easier as I make more things but for a beginner like me, it was not easy.

Your piece would make a lovely journal cover and belly bands. I used to put some fabric glue to the middle of the pieces to help them stay, I never thought of it as cheating just very helpful. Beautiful🩷🪻💙

Just love your slow stitching projects. The use of the iron on tape is fantastic, thank you for sharing. I did see a video where the person was using some kind of a stick glue, which she spread on the fabric and then ironed it. I could not find what stick glue she was using, could not read the tube in her hand, and it was not listed. This iron on tape is quite easy to locate. 😊

It’s a great way to hold everything in place while you stitch. Genius. You did make me anxious tho, I kept saying ‘Watch your arm on that iron Gi’. I’d have burnt myself several times, I’m sure lol

I use this type of product in this very same way and with paper also when glue just doesn’t seem quite to do the job. In my humble opinion, rights n wrongs aren’t in crafting vocabulary. I am very impressed with what you are doing, this is one of my first sewing project my Aunt taught me.

What a great idea Gi. One that I definitely will remember. I struggle with squares when I am sewing them. I totally forgot about fusing fabric and how much easier and relaxing it is overall ❤

We use bone folders, crop-O-diles, paper cutters etc to help us in our crafting so why not this? If it makes it easier and more enjoyable I say go for it! I am so impressed with what you have accomplished and admire your constant desire to learn and grow your talents. You are an inspiration!
