I apologize for not having the difference in sprint speeds documented in this video. We (War Correspondents) were not told about the changes they were making to sprint and/or run speeds so I was unable to get any controlled 'before' footage. I will try to find some acceptable footage in my saved gameplay that I can use to highlight the differences. Thanks again for all the support!

That bolt action bug was brutal in close quarters combat when you were already at a huge disadvantage with a bolt vs semi autos. Also, I'm not crazy about the idea of non-verbal commands. There are few enough people currently using mics and we don't need an excuse to use them less.

Even with the mic the non verbal comms isn't a bad idea. Marking where stuff is and so on and putting custom pings on the map. Mostly will get lost in the clutter but at times can be handy.

It will be nice to have something when the VIOP wont work until game restart. I've never had disconnecting/ reconnecting in game work.
I can't quite explain the impact of the new dive to prone. Just feels so good to me.

its good but i needs some kind of timer. I observed somebody spamming the dive in a tallgrass field and its was pretty hard target to hit.

@@froglordd I had this same issue with a Dev (Red Duck) for Metro Conflict... now a dead game. To prove a point I setup a macro to quickly spam duck as there wasn't a cool down and I 1v1'ed him. He couldn't hardly hit me. Delay was added next update.

The people saying they ran too slow and that it was "unrealistic" have never in their lives run through rough terrain, ie. snow, mud, sand, for any extended period of time at all, and much less with several tens of pounds of gear on them, while also in a combat zone. You really don't know what that is like. The old sprint exchanged speed for duration, it worked fine. People who had an issue with it simply do not plan their movements nor strategize. Skill issue.

They mostly complain cause they’re running across the map to the objective when that’s what the garrisons are for.
The run speed is absolutely insane now, it makes the feel cheep and nasty like COD.

I'm a little disappointed with the lack of uniforms and helmets with the British. Have yet to play them yet though. I'm not sure how I feel about the sprint speed though. It doesn't feel like its too much of an increase but i'm still not sure. The reload animation for the M1 is still strange to me. But forgive me if i'm wrong here but the second smg for the Brits look like an old german sub that was all over gamplay footage of BF1. i'm not sure

Mp18 is the one in BF1, Lanchester was a British reversed engineered adaption of the captured German submachine guns that were the grandsons of the mp18 design so makes sense it looks similar. I’m sure someone’s gonna correct me if I’m wrong lol

I love the addition of photos and videos to the field manual. Will make it much easier for new players to learn the little nuances of the game! If they can just slow down acceleration and strafing to cut down on the zig zagging this update is perfect.
I haventplayed myself to to the U14; but thanks to play it in advance so were prepared for what we'll be facing.
Great work getting the video out so quickly! I dunno if it's just me thinking it feels different or not but it seems as though the recoil from rifles pushes back on the shoulder joint more, like they've modified the skeleton frame a little. The force of the recoil is more apparent to me now. Does anyone know if this was implemented in U14?
El Alemein has some great "hollow" SFX in the hangars I just happened to notice - which I havent heard in other maps before. Was not for all sounds I think. Or maybe I was dreaming. Who knows :) About the non-SL marks - makes it really easy to your squadmates callouts for approaching tanks and found garries, as an SL you no longer have to be quick or accurate chasing pings. It does cause a bit more clutter. When tanking it can be confusing to have two move marks up - or any of the other green ones that we use for marking tanks on the map. (For anyone that doesn't know, tank SLs often use the green "move"/"attack" etc marks to mark stuff up for their squad. That way you can have more than 1 tank mark up, it doesn't clutter for the rest of the team - and most importantly - nobody copies your tank mark and then you copy theirs and they copy you etc and you end up chasing a ghost).
Gebatron, just to let you know there appears to be an invisible wall in the road near center HQ spawn on El Alamein (east side). If you drive a truck around there youll find it! 😂 it will stop your truck. Test the rifle sights on British rifles ,bullets seem to hit to the left, a bit like the sniper rifle bug from before. I think Boys AT rifle has slight left falling shot too. Jungle carbine i didnt seem to have as much of a problem but it needs testing i only had a short few games on british side. (On console its a bit rare to be british sadly)
WTF, didn't know about pinging the boxes after you dropped them. What about enemy OPs and garrys, supplies? That would be super helpful for bazooka players
What about the grenades bug where you just wave it at the enemy but never throw it .

Totally hate the non-verbal commands. Pain in the arse with that pin wheel. Try ping and you get a bunch of time consuming nothing. Great video by the way! Also, the amount of lag increases a lot more when teams come together in an area to fight it out. Never have seen such in over one year playing.

So, I've times it before, but going across a full sector tile in the map, took a minute to get across, with new run speed it is gonna be even lower,

Id actually be fine with it if the game had worse ADS speed after a sprint or accuracy (a la Rising Storm). The sprint speed plus the current gunplay is rough.

speed is fine for me now, under 20 seconds for 100m but for me you have to pun in some penalty for sprinting, either stamina system or increase ads time. Also, climbing speed is ridiculously fast now(staircases and climbing hills). It really looks unnatural when someone is sprinting uphill
Been a while but I remember when using DX12 in the launch options it would give me 120fps in 4K but had a really bad studder when I would ADS, anyone know if that’s gone?
Hope you feel better! If I may…I’ve been trying to find what patch player speed was reduced to what we had prior to update 14…does that ring any bells to you?

It was when trucks were introduced. Update8 if memory serves. I don’t think the change was listed though. Will need to check.

Not really a fan of the new sprinting speed, but sounds like that's an unpopular opinion. I would hate to see this thing nudge it's way even closer to CoD/BF in terms of arcade style. I'm along for the ride ig.

I don’t see how it could be like cod/bf just based on the running speed, the ttk is still crazy low and it’s not like you can dolphin dive or crawl on your back like you can in those games. Honestly the one thing that stopped me from playing HLL more was the run speed but I’m interested in how it plays out in games

Will you make a comparison for the sprint speeds? Despite them claiming it is only a 15% increase it feels like the sprint speed is now almost doubled. I tested with my friends and now you can outrun a heavy tank in 3rd gear and in 4th gear a tank only stays ahead of like 1m every 20

@@phantom__1117 it’s a game, and I’m talking of a tank moving forward, not reversing. You were already able to catch up on a tank reversing as the speed of reverse is the same as first gear.

Unfortunately I don’t have any controlled ‘before’ footage of sprint speed so I will not be able to do a proper comparison. Sorry. Maybe I can find something in some old footage, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

@@GebatronGaming if only they communicated what these “locomotion improvements” were before the update… By the way someone on discord said that they tested and compared with previous data they logged and said that the increase is by more than 25%, not the 15% they stated in the patchnotes, which is really concerning, did they lie in the patchnotes or they went overboard with the changes and they haven’t realized?
The Bolt-action bug should be a Hotfix issue but it sustained like months to U14, and imo the game still got no sight zeroing is pretty big disappointment. other stuff is fine as a update nothing more

The sprint looks terrible tbh, does the weapons still float from the hand when running in third person? The old sprint animation looked alot more lively less robotic

They slightly increased step height in an attempt to help players get “hung up” less in the environment.
What’s with getting like 10k less xp?
Running is to fast, now all use zig zag move like it's BF game on open fields. Revert it, or max 5 percent faster.

I hate to say it but I think they're getting a little bit too casual.... They're trying to cater for noob players it seems. Run speed is way too fast, I agree it needed to be faster however it just seems too ridiculous at this point. They should have increased a max of 10% because now hitting someone is extremely difficult now because they run like the flash and dive bomb to the ground gaining an extra few feet....idk its getting too arcady

Had no problem hitting distant sprinting targets. The problem is too exadurated, and no, it is like 6 seconds for 20 meters, 3.6 meters per second. With an awerage step lenght of a grown person Being around 90 - 100 sentimeters while running i can see that soldiers can run 3-4 steps per second.
I had glitches on El Alamein and Driel while doing infantry…tanks on Utah beach rubberbanding like F…amount of British uniforms is shocking😂😂😂

They should add the "satchel on tank, get away" thing in non verbal comms. When I yell that and some people just don't get away, it really make me think that their VOIP is broken

My VOIP is disconnected at about half the time. I bet some people are in the same boat and never feel like reconnecting their VOIP in the settings to fix it
I think the run speed should be faster for a small duration, like a sprint, then after that it turns into a regular jog, plus these guys aren’t buckled down with gear, I’ve had to sprint my ass off faster than these guys run with 130lbs of gear, if you’re taking fire and someone needs something next to you that requires you to move from cover to cover, you WILL NOT be casually jogging, the old run speed was unrealistic in the since that you couldn’t sprint
So thankful they fixed the bolt action bug. I hope they eventually add sound effects of your equipment jangling around as you run.

Looking back I should have ran through the forest in addition to this footage, but I thought moving through cluttered terrain would’ve actually hid the change more. It’s hard to predict the future. Haha!

They need to change the spirit speed
Gebatron CHECK OUT smoke . They seem to have nerfed it. You can see through it now and theres far less bulk or area coverage. This is a MAJOR PROBLEM. Unfortunately with the speed increases and the lack of inertia in turns and direction changes it appears T17 ARE going against their word. They are going more arcade and maybe theyre going to do it in stages BECAUSE they know players are going to be pissed. I was really enjoying the update until people pointed out the smoke and showed how you can dodge fire. Hmmm i hope T17 arent doing it

I'm now worried about the future direction of HLL whereas I wasn't initially upon playing update 14. I hope Geb can speak to the devs and get an answer as to WHY they are doing this? I don't want a COD game. It seems the devs do

Oh wow I'm sorry to say , now I've had the chance to play as British a few times things arent as good as I thought. Though a bug I think , still pretty bad. The sights on all British rifles seem to be slightly off to the right meaning long shots are hit and miss on aim! If you play on El Alamein you will struggle to hit long shots without off setting your aim peg in sights. (Not ALL GUNS tho I think the jungle carbine is less "off") The Lanchester is the best smg and I can't quite work out why , it just feels better all round. The sten is almost like the bugged version of the grease gun. The Bren, as a medium to long range weapon is almost unusable. Why on earth this has no tripod I just cannot fathom. Try the Bren. It will infuriate you. 🫣 What happened to playtesting before release? How has this not been noticed. So sadly there are problems, bugs etc introduced anew. (Bren is a massive dissapointment)

This game is nothing like battlefield. Battlefield wishes it was in the same ball park, the only thing HLL and battlefield have in common is that battlefield made a ww2 game.

@@aidenschelling i think it's more a QOL update, maps are huge and the painfully slow run speed just make the game feel boring at times. the speed buff is not too noticeable but you can already feel it's faster and feel a lot better in my opinion. The new speed is good so i just hope they won't decrease or increase it more, if they increase it more then yea, like you say, it's become battlefield or call of duty

so far, my only complaint about the update is that they didn't add a safe zone slider for xbox, because my TV doesn't have the ability to change it
A new "BUG" inside the update! The microphone/ headset set up will change during game time! Had itg happen a bunch oof times. Lost a hour and 15 minute game because I could no longer speak to my squad. Fix it by going to OPTIONS and click on AUDIO then in menu click on Check . Double check what is checked for your in put and out put. Assign the correct items ( Mine were showing DEFAULT on each one. Repaired? NOPE! after a while in that game or next one it will self assign those choices once again. VOIP is now a robot of the game it seems. I saw in game in TEAM chat others were losing their VOIP also. So you might be experiencing it soon yourself. It's a back breaker.

@@GebatronGaming Honestly. I thought the same thing. I went to the use of the clumsy non-verbal in another squad and find that has the most non usage statements for game. I ask you, as a busy squad leader, when do you have time to read? Imagine all 5 using souly that!?

@@swampybman7741 I think it's great for players that either don't have a mic or are in a situation where they can't talk. Say they are playing near a sleeping child or something. Also for people who don't speak the prevailing language on a server or who simply don't have the ability to speak. I do not think it should be used as a substitute for speaking and I'm afraid that there will be a portion of players who will now never even try to communicate because they have a crutch that let's them get away with it. I think it's a good thing that unfortunately will end up having less than ideal consequences. But we'll have to wait and see as I've been wrong about changes in the past.

@@GebatronGaming You're to kind. I'm a "no quarter given" type. Either play another game or take the plunge and dive into say, a $19.99 head set. If one is paying 40 bucks for a game why not splurge? I have had to "keep it down" from orders more high up than me ( wife) so yeah I get it. But, are there really whole squads having sleeping kids and wives at the same time? My guess is 9 year old's on dad's comp. BTW: I also believe in "double tapping" … it works well in real life...

I kinda wish it was Vera Lynn: We'll Meet Again. A banger and kind of encapsulates the war for them more. Having to fight on four continents against multiple armies and navies, practically simultaneously with limited manpower (had enough men but carting them around the world was difficult).

Hate to say it...the new update is trash. Yes, i love the new standing to prone/dive feature however, it can definitely be abused as i have done in some matches. Additionally, i think the biggest thing is the sprint speed. Its too fast. Im a decent shot in this game too, bit holy shit it makes this game wayyyy to easy now if you're under fire. Not so much you're the one firing its definitely harder to get a hit. Idk how i feel. Disagree. Driel is a great map and it runs beautifully I just wish they had optimized pre u14 maps to run just as well

Dont be so picky. We finally got another huge Update after long time of waiting, so enjoy and have fun instead of talking about the bad parts of it. New Maps look both amazing.

@@MadAtMax.300Blackout didn’t say anything about the quality of the content, just said some aspects are unfinished, for example the guns and the lack of uniforms, and some are badly executed and obviously not community tested like the running speed and some of the gun choices like the 1914 variant of the lee enfield

@@koni05 what a naive point of view. Just not talking about the bad parts will just let developers across the board spend less time on updates. The update is playable, but is obviously not completely thought out. Telling people to“Quit complaining and enjoy the game” is not a valid excuse for incomplete updates

1ST GAME I played, found trench, got in, found friendly hiding. I said hello. He responds, "your mic's too low, lemme fix it". And proceeds to shoot me in the head. I lasted 3 minutes in game. 2nd game followed my squad and listened to my squad leader yelling the entire time, it got to the point nobody spoke on mic just in hopes he'd stfu. The issue i see isn't just the lack of thee use of mics, its the veteran players treating people like sh^t but expecting them to give a crap about their wants. Its like that in a lot of games. Heck ive even been a part of it and not realized until after. I uninstalled after 2 games. I've played salty games before, like rust....im over the tryhards and salt.

The pattern 1914 is the default gun and wast even used by British infantry in WW2 ..its a joke

They really need to optimize their game and fix the damn server lag instead of adding shit that'll just make it worse.. pings at 100+ on every damn server and region and when I check the server list everyone's ping is extremely high too. Plus this update has bugged officers and the Bren won't deploy it's bipod.. ffs.
