Upcycling small fabric scraps + making a fabric collage using organza! Zero waste textile project!
Did anyone else watch the Sewing Bee this week? They had a challenge where they used fabrics scraps and organza to create beautiful bags!
I create something similar but using a collage technique which is something I show you how to do in this video - so grab those pesky scraps and let's get making!
I was initially inspired by @fromcarlyb on Instagram who created a dress using a similar technique! So thank you for inspiring this collage style that I use for my crossbody bags!

I love your content so very much. Yt made you pop up on my thread just yesterday, (fun fact) after I watched Sewing Bee. Cannot wait for all your lovely input to come. Greetings from Germany
I love your birdie bag. I’d love to see a full video or pattern for that style bag. Even if it’s made from just a “boring” plain piece of fabrics. Of course scraps make It so much more fun. ✂️
I love doing collaging on clothing and bags. I'll also add buttons, beads, charms, braiding, embroidery and anything else that can be sewn and washed. I handsew mine but I love LOVE what you've done with your bags. Recycling is the best way to go 🤗xx
Shame about sewing bee why not contact the BBC and ask if they can link you on the sewing bee website? Worth asking I would say ❤
I really love the print you used for your shirt - adorable! I can't believe you were so close to being featured, it's still so cool and validating that you caught their eye.
Way to use up scraps!
Lovely projects! Too much camera movement, though.
Love the video! ADORE the black cat fabric you're wearing❤️
Wonderful scraps turned into Art. Love the birds❤
Oh my goodness- I’ve been making bags and wallets inspired by Carly B’s technique, and when I saw this video pop up I was like hey, she does it too, maybe its not a bad idea after all- and then you said she inspired you too! Thats so awesome, great minds! I looove your collage technique, and the idea of layering fabric scraps (ive been using felt or batting). I have to try it now!
And the new blouse made out of your Japanese cat fabric is gorgeous! Nice job.
This project is just darling! I'm watching you from the small town of Ennis, Texas. I found you here on KZread just a couple weeks ago and I've enjoyed every video of yours I've seen. I love how much you enjoy recycling and upcycling. It's inspirational to say the least!
Thank you for your wonderful videos! They get my creative flow going. I love your use of scraps as padding/wadding/batting. Keep these videos coming, Scarlett! From Australia 💞
That measuring foot is genius!
Thank you, Scarlett! Love that you gave us this tutorial, you are very good at teaching. Love. love, luv this technique.
Love love love! Thanks for being awesome!
thank you that was fun. Loved that you used the scraps to pad it up, keeping it scrappy and reusing fabric
That's a beautiful cushion cover. Can't wait to try this for myself.
This is such a fun technique! Can't wait to try it, thank you! So cool that it doesn't use any fusible etc.
I love everything in your video, the bag, your top and collar, and your vest 😍
