In this captivating video, we witness the transformation of old shipwrecked timber into a stunning wooden console. The video showcases the art of upcycling, breathing new life into discarded materials and creating something both functional and visually appealing.
The craftsman starts by carefully selecting pieces of shipwrecked timber that have been washed ashore. He highlights the wood's unique weathered texture and character, emphasizing its potential to become an exquisite piece of furniture.
Next, we see the craftsman meticulously cleaning the timber. This step is crucial in preparing the wood for further processing. Tools like sandpaper and brushes are employed to reveal the hidden beauty beneath the surface.
Once cleaned, the craftsman proceeds to measure and cut the timber to the desired dimensions for the console. With great precision, he shapes the wood, ensuring seamless joints and smooth edges, resulting in a harmonious design.
Throughout the video, the craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident. The craftsman expertly joins the different pieces of timber together, creating a sturdy structure. He employs traditional woodworking techniques such as mortise and tenon joints, enhancing both the durability and aesthetic appeal of the console.

You have created more than a side table but rather a work of art. Beautiful job!!! I used to be a member of Flushing Friends (Quaker) Meeting in Queens, NY. That old building on Northern Boulevard was built in the 1600s from the salvage of ships. I remember a woman telling me that the unique scent of the building was the scent of worship.. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it was probably a combination of the age of the wood coupled with the utter saturation of the wood by the oceans. The salt water would have cured that ancient wood.
Nagyon ügyes vagy!
Amazing!
thank you for sharing
Superrrrr 💛💚❤️🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹
Stunning!
It’s a work of art. Who cares if he is unsafe. Lots of artists drink to much and die young, or do drugs and overdose. Good job. I’d love to have it in my home.👍👍👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Beautiful
Working ancient wood, using ancient well kept machinery. You live in a world that reuses/repurposes what the sea and land provides. What most people don’t realize, island life doesn’t mean a never ending supply of wood products, modern tools, adhesives, training etc. you did a good job. Americans are jealous because they don’t have access to wood that has sat in the oceans for centuries.

I've been admiring your videos for a long time! I would like to build this part one day too. I have two questions: What glue did you use and what do you use to treat the surface? Thanks for your videos!🤩 Kuno
Nice table. And as a bonus you have finished it without losing any finger. Be careful
Hermoso trabajo

If that timber could talk it would have a tale to tell I bet.
This is ship wood. The table will outlive it's owner. Good job. I like your content.

Is a beautiful side table, Could be less heavy, the top and drawers
👌👌👌👌👌👌
Nicely done. Where does the wood come from?
when using a circular saw 4:38 to cut, always put the wider part of the base of the saw against your guide and not the opposite, the reason is you have more stability, an accurate cut and is safer.

Childish “shop table” but nothing I’d want in a home. Worthless
Ficou lindo seu trabalho gatinho❤
What a fantastic job! Which wood id this?
Hard to believe you didn't check for metal nails and bolts before cutting into them!
Wooooow nice
👏👏👏🇹🇷👍🖐🖐
How about some sharing? What was the glue mix? Looked like sawdust and something. What was the wheel/s on the grinder? Pretty work but no sharing.

The fact he was using a metric tape measure, was the worst offense.
Id give anything to have this wood. its a shame that you don't care much for quality.
everything epic until the finishing... something more natural/matte would have brought home big time!
What kind of glue is he using?

Not sure. Maybe some type of hide glue
Great use of old wood, nice design, but to my mind, you ruined the table to putting a coat of varnish over the wood. Either leave the timber alone, or, apply beeswax.
👍
O verniz brilhante final é que estragou tudo 😢

OH. We understand the meaning
I had a teacher at RISD in the early 1980s that told all his students that they should count every finger before using the table saw, then count again when they were finished, just to make sure they were all still there. I was aprehensive throughout this entire flick, and hope kids and beginners do not watch it, and 'learn' from it. Still, a year later a kid I knew (we were sculpture majors) lost half his thumb with a stupid move (from kickback, of course), and worst of all his thumb almost blinded him as it flew by his head bouncing off his eyesocket and landing 5 meters away on a woodchip pile. Now for the "sad" details... he was making a cross, a Christian cross to attach a Christ figure he sculpted from aged cheddar cheese he was going to entitle "Cheesus". I don't think he ever finished the piece.

Very dangerous
It looks too new for my taste
