Upcycled coffee bag basket | Windmill weaving

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In windmill weaving, the woven surface consists of four-spindle windmills that are woven side by side. In the video, you can see the strip size, weaving the first windmill, adding a second windmill next to the first, forming a corner and finishing the edge. By combining these, you can use this technique to create different baskets and bags. Keep in mind while designing the pattern, that the visible parts of the strips in this technique are on both ends. Stunning bags and baskets woven out of coffee bags are unique, practical and durable. And of course a great way to recycle used coffee bags!
For the weaving you need:
- empty coffee bags
- paper or cardboard
- a pen
- a ruler
- scissors

"You are the answer to my lonely prayer, an angel from above."... ...to borrow from a famous song. I have accumulated empty coffee wrapers and this is a very, rather, best way to recycle and make use of them. Thank you so much. God bless.

Thanks for your comment. You can adjust the speed of the video (0,5 should be slow enough). I like to edit the videos to be fast paced, so you won't get bored when watching them 😄

Hiii, I hv a question, hope you can answer me🤭 I hv an urgent project, what if I want to make a bigger basket for a game purpose, how's the calculation for the cutting pieces? The formula used is (12-0.7) divided by 4 and multiple 3.. am I right if I just need to change the number 12 to the number I want to produce a bigger ?

If the material you are using is wider, then you measure it and use it in stead of 12 cm (these coffee bags are 12cm in width). You can make the basket what ever size by just adding more pieces to it 😊

Have you seen my website ruutupunontaa.fi/en? There the square weaving instructions are very basic and all the other techniques are kind of same but you only weave the loops a little different ☺️
