From June 3 to 6, 2024, at the Museo della Tonnara 🐟 in Stintino, the 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬-𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 will be held. This event has been organised by a bold collaboration between the 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐝𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐢 🇮🇹 and the Lancaster Ecology and Epidemiology Group of the 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥’𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚̀ 𝐝𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 🇬🇧. In Stintino, ➋⓪ international experts from ➊⓪ nations as Algeria🇩🇿, Colombia🇨🇴, Corsica and France🇫🇷, Sardinia and Italy🇮🇹, Pakistan🇵🇰, Northern Ireland and England🇬🇧, Egypt🇪🇬, Israel🇮🇱, South Africa🇿🇦 and Senegal🇸🇳, will work together for three days of intensive talks, brainstorming and networking.
The project aims to review the state of art of the main emerging and re-emerging infectious and parasitic diseases, as well as to create an international surveillance observatory for vector-borne diseases. The observatory will play a crucial role in the prevention and surveillance of zoonoses not only in Sardinia, but in the entire Mediterranean basin. In fact, by focusing on large-scale zoonosis, identification of potential risks and surveillance of their spread, the observatory will provide essential and timely information for the adoption of preventive measures.
The plenaries with keynote speeches from the various international experts will be open to the main public health stakeholders as well as the students of the Schools of Specialization (for Doctors, Biologists and Veterinarians), Master and PhD students.
