@@trainco1643 Agreed. I'm from the UK and was an avid Liverpool supporter for 27 years. Then I emigrated out here and got right into the AFL. My boys play the game passionately and we love going to see the Bulldogs. Dont get me wrong, I love the Premier League, but it'll be a sad day when a sport like Soccer that isn't threatened by any other overpowers a true Aussie sport like the AFL. "Up There Cazaly" to me captures that quintessential Aussie Battler mentality. Love it. 🇬🇧 🇦🇺

I remember back in '79 when this came out and I was a soldier in Townsville surrounded by men who played this strange game. I hailed from Queensland and never had much exposure to it. Well, the rest is history for me as one annual leave I went to Melbourne and spent time in Collingwood and was infected with the Black and White bug. Hearing this now gives me goosebumps and brings back very fond memories and God Bless Mike Brady. A well deserved honour.

I was the only kid who played AFL (the aussie rules)at my school in Brisbane. Whilst this song was a hit all my friends ditched rugby league and played kick to kick trying to mark speccies. Great Memories. As a kid i barracked for Fitzroy as I used to play for Acacia Ridge which had the same jumper. I had the best of two worlds when brissie and fitzroy merged.

Something like 25 years ago I watched this football movie, I'm sure it was The Club 1980, but not certain as I have only seen it one time and I was only 7. I (Think) the ending has a "Spectacular mark" frozen image and this song plays. That's what I can remember, at least. The only lyrics I could remember where "In there like light, up there and at them, show em your might" "Fight like the devil, you're out there to win" and with that tiny bit of information I found this song 15 years later. Most of the time I hate having a good memory, but this is one of the few when it did me a favor

I saw the film The Game on BBC maybe 40 years ago? I remember little about the movie apart from the main character having issues that threatened his career. This tune however, was a fresh earworm when I woke up this morning, and felt compelled to listen to it again. Thanks KZread. mahna mahna

I'm from a town called Tonbridge in England. This song used to play before our local football (soccer) team played their games. The day they stopped playing it a bit of Tonbridge's culture died. Great song.

Noooo no no thats John Greening, one of Collingwood's best ever. However his career was tragically ended by a pathetic St Kilda player called Jim O'Dea, hit him off the ball and paralyzed him then and there. It was honestly the closest thing to manslaughter that has ever happened on a footy field.
