I purchased mine on the bracelet, and then ordered the rubber strap from Swatch replacement parts. Currently have it on the rubber, and it is the more comfortable option for sure. I think if the bracelet tapered a bit, like the oyster bracelet on the Submariner, it would be much more wearable. The black of the rubber makes the watch pop a bit more too I think. I do love the clasp on the bracelet, and the micro adjustability is more appropriate for summer/water adventures, it's just not as comfortable overall on the bracelet...

I agree. I went in looking for the blue with the bracelet and fell in love with the black with the rubber band. This is a beautiful watch.

I own a sub and I recently purchased this Omega. I really feel that the Omega is killing the submariner with this model. There’s something so special about it and you have to see it in person to appreciate it

Nice review, covered the basics and no waffle. Btw two of us always attend the Friday night Salon Qp but at £75 not this time. Going during the day instead.

The Anti-Magnetic movement is so underrated. Now with so many things around our lives that can affect our mechanical movements, being truly anti-magnetic to 15,000 gauss is so important.

Agree 100%. I have a Breitling chronomat 41 limited edition airborne. It has their highly respected in house b01 movement. It is a great movement, however i'm constantly having to demagnetize it to keep it accurate. Especially true when traveling. Something about airports, scanners, airplanes that causes my watches to magnetize pretty heavily. I now travel exclusively with the Omega, because I get tired of my watches magnetizing. Omega does it 100% right. the 15,000 Gauss spec is the the most underrated spec of the watch, and my favorite!

I haven't really been paying attention to watches too much this year and I'm just getting caught up on models. I didn't realize how much my 116610LV sub has appreciated in the last 2 years and after seeing this I'm contacting my independent dealer to see about trading the sub in at a premium on one of these Omegas. Really impressed.

I am a Omega Seamaster fan but regarding the elephant in the room, The Submariner just shows you the genius of Rolex in general. It's the reiterations of Omega that make some people shun them, whereas Rolex designs have remain classic and mostly the same and as desirable as it was 30 years ago. Even the old ones still look good and that's where Rolex is Right.

William Lau I disagree, I personally think Rolex as a brand is beginning to look dated they don’t have anything fresh that shows ingenuity. Will Rolex continue to be successful of course because to me it’s now a status symbol something someone wears to say they’ve achieved something where as Omega says I’m all about fresh cutting edge tech. But remember that’s all just my personal opinion. Rick

It cuts both ways. I love this new Seamaster and am considering buying it. However, you do wonder how it will age and whether it will be considered "old" after the newer iterations have released. While you never have that worry with a sub, the design has been crowdfunded, borrowed, faked and imitated to death which overall makes it just less interesting.

I bought this exact model and have had for about a month. It is by far the most perfect size for my wrist as its not too big and not too small. I did however notice something with the accuracy. When I wear the watch all day (12 hours) it is about 1/4 a second fast but once I put the watch away and don't touch it for another 12 hours it will be 2-3 seconds faster than when I put it away. I'm really baffled and so to summarize, this watch is crazy accurate when wearing it but gains a a couple seconds when not in use.

I recently got this watch and is amazing. In "live" is even better the look.... It's definitively worth the purchase.

Really enjoyed this review. You moved through all the relevant areas of the watch that a potential buyer would want to hear about. The length was great as many just go on and on without any real purpose. If possible, as watch enthusiasts like myself like to see the full package of what comes with the watch for the money you are parting with, a very brief review of the packaging that your prized possession will be arriving in. A beautiful box finishes the customer experience to perfection and some brands fail miserably in this area. I think Omega are now on par with Rolex with regards to movement quality, I really wish they would use 904L steel for the case and bracelets as 316L can quickly become very tired looking when worn as a daily wearer. On the whole though Omega have made their prime diver extremely attractive to the watch fans out there, but you can never satisfy everyone and no doubt comments about the shape of the escape valve for instance will be a common discussion. I am so looking forward to QPSALON this year and what the vendors have in store for us all.

To me the concern is not only the slight increase in size of the dial, but a 3mm increase lug to lug. Now 50mm. Will look odd on smaller wrists.

I own both and the seamaster is superior and gets more wrist time. The new adjustable bracelet is so much better than Rolex subs. Rolex lovers should try the omega before commenting

Rolex GlideLock is brilliant. Unsure what you prefer in the new Omega clasp, although it is definitely pretty nice. This Omega has a few nice modern touches I like tho, like a ZrO2 dial, will probably age well given resistance to UV light and overall corrosion.

Roman Grom i have owned Rolex omega and Tudor and found the omega to fit great and not heavy. The tudors are heavier and move around on your wrist because of it. Omega is very comfortable and owning the older seamaster 300 without the extra adjustment I can only assume the new version be better still.

Roman Grom I’m slim and 165lbs over 6’ and the seamaster with rubber strap gets more wear time then my Submariner. Both are great watches but I really like the gold bezel option and that it still remains a deal compared to even the cheapest Rolex. The omega movement looks great as well, definitely gets more wrist time then the Rolex. But the Rolex is slightly thinner when wearing a suit, though neither were meant to be dress watches. I feel both sit nicely on the wrist, I hate metal bracelets so I always change the bands. You really can’t go wrong with either, just feel the omega is priced right while the Rolex is a bit over priced right now. Back a decade ago when I got mine Rolex Submariner was cheaper and dealers would take 10-15% off. Now I’m tempted to sell mine for 30-50% over what I paid for it, which it’s not worth. Trends🤷🏼‍♂️?

After hunting for a submariner and try to figure out all the games Rolex is playing, I just bought the 300,I did the right thing every time I look at it. I hope it's as strong as the Spartan 300.

Just bought this as my first luxury watch with the white dial and black bezel. Couldn't be happier with it. Beats any other watch on the planet for my money. Especially to coaxial movement developed by George Daniels

Probably only gain 2-3 minutes a month. The Aqua Terra has the same 8800 movement which I’m considering as well.

I hated this watch in photos. I tried on the black two-tone and was very impressed. Not a fan of two-tone but it was really nicely done.

I am new to the whole watches and i am really thinking about picking this up as my first high end watch... now most of the videos i have seen have this black band... did this came with the watch or did you buy it separately? If so what is the name of it .. thanks

Chris B well I certainly know what it means. But I wanted to see what a customer would say on this. However it is completely fine if you want to be rude and not answer.

That black rubber strap really sets the watch off - stainless bracelet for winter, rubber strap for summer.

Why on the bottom right lug does it say “not for sale”?

100% agree. The Sub leaves me cold. The Seamaster 300M is the way.

A watch at this price should not have ANY sharp edges out of the box--that is just poor finishing. Omega is really screwing up with these latest Seamaster's & Speedmaster's.

I'm considering to get this watch. I'm just waiting to see if there will be new iterations this year. I think previously it was 41.5mm and now 42mm. I just hope that it sticks to one measurement. So no matter how many releases, it will still look classic. Just my opinion.

Gian how is rolex another level? Look at the movement on the sub. Another level of marketing yes, finishing and aesthetics, no.

No need for an escape valve, dont like the strap nor the hands, but the general look of the dial and bezel is great. So quite good and at this price, this is unbeatable. Definitely the Baselworld winner when considering bang per buck.

It's always been a nice time piece with great current upgrades. I love the ceramic theme. BUT the submariner is the diving standard. Clear back is nice, but in gold I'd rather have the weight than a view. Apples to apples it's still Rolex.

To think when this was released it retailed at £3500...on the rubber

Stunning watch, no wonder it's nicknamed 'THE SUB KILLER' in ref to Rolex Submariner.

I was going to purchase a Rolex milgauss last year. Glad i didnt and as opposed to its 1000 rating the Omega 300 is 15,00 and is just a better overall watch for me.

I've heard a few people not liking the Lume on the Skeletonized hands. An owner of this very watch, I have to say I disagree completely. I don't have any issues with the Lume, and the hands are equally visible to my sub.

I just got mine, but what I’ve noticed is that the lume fades more quickly on the hands, such that in the middle of the night when I check the time, I can see the minute markers but not the hands, rendering it pretty useless for telling the time. But the lume itself is a gorgeous blue and I love it.

I'll get one when the escape value goes away

U.U.U you get used to it, I thought the same when I got mine. The ceramic face is really nice compared to the Rolex sub face. Plus I like having the gold bezel and it not cost that much more over having to get a solid gold watch on Rolex to have those accents and the price tripling. My sub is basic steel so the ceramic and gold seamaster definitely looks great against it even though it has an extra crown.

Conical shape valve is fugly.

The fact that a Rolex Submariner always gets mentioned means the Submariner is still THE reference.

Sub has to obey and surrender to its MASTER this time.

The clasp is poorly made, very loose and rattly and the noise from the rotor arm movement due to the ceramic bearings is not good either.ive had mine a week and I've been back to the store twice with these issues thinking it was broke only to realise it's the norm and I'm seriously considering taking it back for a refund or exchange different watch brand

The 'Pin Buckle' on the strap looks really cheap, id expect better on a luxury piece

More of a modern diver than a sub or black bay. I do really like the dial and the movement of the omega, but I like everything else better with the sub and black bay

So its £3000 for a watch it’s just a watch my race bike cost less then that a watch only tells you the time at least a bike is useful and it keeps you fit

Just my opinion but I much prefer the previous version, the wave lines look tacky, and the toothpaste lid helium valve, really? That was the best design you could come up with? Fail.

You obviously haven't seen it in person. That's the thing about high end watches... those waves appear and disappear depending on the light. Go see it and give it a chance.

Prefer the look of the outgoing model. Rolex sticking with the classic look of the Submariner (and their other models) is what gives any Submariner such prestige. Other manufactures that bring out a new version of a watch every few years devalue the model both in monetary terms and in terms of credibility. Now this new Seamaster is out, the old version will be on sale with a decent discount. The same will happen with this model in a few years which will put some off buying. Rolex never discount for a reason and they don’t need to.

Rolex Rules

Dive watches should be on a bracelet. I prefer my Seagull Ocean Star at $350 However, I do have a Omega from 1954 with the 266 handwound movement. Now that oozes class. This one is flawed. I wouldn't buy it. A vintage speedmaster would be nice. I am saving up.

Ditch the date. Ditch some of the text, maybe “co-axial”. Switch to a steel caseback with the seamonster relief. Then Omega would have a real winner!

It’s a nice watch but certainly not as good as any number of watches made by Rolex. Rolex’s seat on the throne is not threatened here.

Why? What is wrong with liking this piece more than sub? Everyone has their own preferences. I do think that the omega seamaster professional 300m has an iconic design and looks better than a sub. Sub appears to me as a huge chunk of metal. Dull and boring design. Having said that everyone has their own preferences. And don't get me wrong, the sub has a better build quality and is an iconic watch

The more I watch videos about Omega watches the more I want a Rolex...

Lol. Omega owners always trying to justify to themselves that’s their watch is better than a Rolex. Before anyone gets butt hurt I own a couple subs and this seamaster and even though this seamaster is nice the seamaster range has been too inconsistent over the years to compare the line to the sub which has remained minimally altered over the decades and has way passed iconic status. Omega just have a way of fucking things up. Take for instance the original Moonwatch with hesalite crystal and solid caseback. I believe that iconic speedy but omega in true omega fashion produced a million variable of this icon also. If you want to just put a sapphire crystal on it for practicality I understand but all the other variables and ‘limited editions’ just water down the brand imo.
