I have that style weight distribution setup right now by Equilizer. I don't switch out trailers so I just have a stand alone tongue scale I've used for my last few trailers. As far as that bar and bracket style weight distribution, I woukd rather go back to my Blue Ox chain style setup I sold with my last trailer. Shoot, even my cheap EAZ lift was better than the bracket style. If you ever make a really sharp turn, you will find yourself bending those brackets that the spring bars rest on. I understand the benefit of having sway control built into this friction style setup but to be honest, our trucks have sway control built into them. It will pulse your brakes and tell you to reduce speed. Ask me how I know lol. I've been in some nasty winds. I will still rock my friction style I have now but I would never purposely buy that style again.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I haven't had any issues with the brackets bending with this style hitch, but I could see it happening if you didn't keep the joints greased and torqued to the correct spec. It does seem like with the sway control on our trucks the sway bars aren't as necessary. However, it sounds like you normally haul a trailer with a lot of additional weight haha these trailers from factory are balanced terrible...like sometimes almost no tongue weight. I don't think I could survive without this weight safe setup lol
