    I don't remember having any issues with the auxiliary input itself but I almost think the cable they sent me was making a bunch of staticking noises and I swapped it out for a different cable, I'm pretty sure that was on this unit so I would check to see if you can find another auxiliary cable to try out first and if that's not the problem then it could be a bad unit and if so I would probably exchange it for another one or something, but now that you mentioned it I do think the cable they sent me didn't work but the aux input itself did can I forgot about that. But I remember hooking my phone to with the mogami cable and it worked really well so if you're using the cable they sent you I'm wondering if that might just be a defective cable they're sending out,, I wish I would have remembered to mention that in the video but I totally forgot about it but yeah I think mine did come with a bad cable for the auxiliary

    Is there a way you can connect the scarlet solo, then to maono?

    So you're trying to hook one interface into another interface, that's something I've never really heard of anybody doing before but I'm not sure why you would want to but what you could do is get a set of TRS connectors and run those into the line output on the back of the solo, then you would have to get some sort of y adapter so you could plug that into the auxiliary input personally I don't think I would go without route I think you would probably end up degrading your audio quality I mean I would have to try something like that to know for sure but I got a weird feeling it might cause problems or ruin the quality of the audio but I mean there's a couple of ways like that you could probably rig it up but I wouldn't suggest it. But with the right y adapter you could actually do that

    I’m new to audio stuff and recently wanted pick up the Maono audio interface. Does the small delay in the zero latency monitoring affect audio recording even if I do not need to hear myself speak?

  • @dannylightning-audio-reviews

    @dannylightning-audio-reviews

    nope, it wont effect the recording but there is a pretty good chance you will want to monitor something your recording at some point and its can make things a little weird. this interface has unusual controls and was not perfect but seemed to sound pretty descent, i think there are a lot of budget options these days so look around, do some research and try and figure out what will be best for you in the price rand you can afford.

    @@dannylightning-audio-reviews Ok good to hear that at least the recording isn't affected. Do you have some suggestions for some audio interfaces that are in the low-mid range budget. I am mostly using an audio interface to pair up an upcoming XLR microphone that I want to purchase. I would mainly use it to record videos/sometimes making commentary videos.

    Modern interfaces are all going to be comparable what you want to look for is one with a nice amount of gain on the preamps, a lot of them are coming out with higher gain preamps allow you to run gain hungry microphones like the SM7B without having to match your preamps but I think the best bang for the buck is probably the Scarlet 2i2 fourth generation, it gives you about 70 decibels of gain, really good digital to analog converters, the preamps are very clean, it's got a great headphone amp, Nice software which allows you to control the interface directly from the PC and they even added if you need things to the software that will allow you to make presets and stuff like that which you can't do on the interface itself so they've been improving the software, I just released My second review video for that interface a couple days back because I've been using for pretty much a year now and it's the one that I use all the time. I'm not having any major problems with it just one minor issue that I talk about in the video that most people probably won't ever have and I don't get any skips or stuttering during the recording when using OBS studio like I do on some other interfaces so I have just been really happy with this one Now some of these interfaces will come with more bells and whistles like built-in compressors, a prayer that allows you to drive it to add some saturation in there if you don't want a 100% clean recording And stuff like that but a lot of those start getting up into the more expensive side, another interface I really love is the SSL 2 Plus, it just doesn't have as much gain available as the Scarlet, but it sounds great it has a monitor mix right on the interface which is awesome it's got some midi hookups on the back which the Scarlet does not unless you buy the next step up on the A lot of people do it by an interface that only hooks up one mic and then they regret it and end up buying a second one so it's totally worth buying one that hooks up two microphones in my opinion you never know when you might want to record a second microphone or have a guest. There's a lot of interfaces out there and there's a lot of new ones coming out and some of them are quite interesting but if you're looking to spend around 200 bucks I would probably look at one of those two interfaces right there but I'm a big fan of the Scarlet at the moment,

    i did not use a Gain booster with this interface and the SM7B and i was happy with the results, however cranking the gain and pushing the interfaces preamps will always add a little preamp noise, generally you won't even notice it's there, i can't really hear it, in my opinion is no, you probably don't need a gain booster or preamp.

    You do have to charge the interface but once the battery is charged you can use it with or without the second cable being plugged in, that is until the battery dies and than you will need to change it again, and remember you can plug the 2nd cable into your pc or into a basicl usb wall charger to charge it keep it charged when using it..

    phone interview setup with MaonoCaster AMC2 NEO

    If you're asking how to do that you could either connect the phone with Bluetooth and then whatever sound plays over the phone should go into the interface or just got a headphone jack you could just use a quarter inch to quarter inch cable and run it into the auxiliary in on the interface, of course get your microphone to the volume you want to then just use the volume adjustment on the phone and or the volume adjustments on the interface to get your guest to the correct level But you can definitely do it, might take a little playing around with but get the hang of it,, normally if I was going to have a guest on one of my live streams on one of my gaming channels or something we would just do it through discord so that's another option, but if you connect the phone through Bluetooth any audio on the phone should be picked up on the interface

    Danny thank you for give me heads up. just got my interface and its charging. bluetooth seems to me the easiest. would be nice if you did a youtube , to just show how people can interview on a stream. the issue i think is setting up the volume correctly for the phone interview or call. thanks again danny@@dannylightning-audio-reviews

    If you like Bluetooth it'll definitely work, whatever software you're using to record should have a loudness meter on it, you would basically turn your voice up to the level you wanted to be at and then you would do the same for the guest voice, I actually just made a video a couple of days ago about proper audio levels for obs studio, if you watch that video that should give you a really good idea on how to get everything to the proper volume, your voice and your guess voice, In order to make a video like that I would have to try to convince somebody I know to be part of the video and you'd be surprised how many people are kind of weird about that kind of thing ,, oh I don't want to be on KZread my voice sounds terrible or some other excuse LOL Whatever recording software you're using or streaming software you're using there's probably somebody who makes a tutorial for that, I'm sure they're all a little bit different. Now if you're just simply recording and you're going to edit the audio later you don't need to push your voice to max volume because you can always do that on the editing software but if you're not planning on editing it later you want to push your voices to the max volume in that video I made will show you how to do that and then you would do the same for your guest and try to match your volumes as closely as possible or maybe even make them just a couple decibels quieter than you
