As soon as you saw a Red Dog on the ground and not moving, my very first thought was 'I hope it isn't Eleanor's baby'. I could have cried when you saw her and knew it was, indeed, her baby. There's something truly wonderful about her. So sorry for your loss.

If the calf swallows some of the membrane, it can go into their lungs…. And cause death. Sooooo sorry for this loss.

Oh no, not Eleanor's baby! Of all the cows(all female Bovine are cows) to lose a baby, Eleanor's is the one who would be affected the most. She gets bullied by the other females, but having a calf is proof that she belongs! Poor sweet, Eleanor's, I'm sorry you lost your baby.😢😢😢

Very Sad Dusty...I suspect the calf just swallowed some membrane or perhaps got stepped on. WIth Eleanor not having great sight, she might have accidently stood on it. Or should might have been bullied away from it and one of the other cows stepped on it. It looks perfectly formed and well fleshed out so it wasn't a weak looking calf. Just accidents happen. SO sad.

I would not breed her big Joe he is too big she can't handle she doesn't get enough to eat and maybe one of the dominant cows stomped it or she needed more food. She was not that nution 😊😊😊

It was so special when Big Joe paid respects to Eleanor's calf but when Hoss came over I just about lost it. I'm sending hugs to the whole family.

Oooooh Eleanor 🥺 The baby looked normal from what we could see. I hope she wasn't run off from her baby. She's so timid. Sad so sad 😞

My first thought too was please don’t let it be Eleanor’s baby. I personally want to say thank you Dusty and Marissa for allowing Eleanor to have a permanent home. This is only one small reason why I follow and don’t miss a video. I’ve been here since the beginning even though I’m not much of a comment person. Your gigantic heart shines in everything you do. Losing this calf is heartbreaking for Eleanor. I feel so bad for her. It’s amazing to me to see the other bison visiting the deceased red dog - just like humans do when we lose a family member.

Oh no, not Eleanor! I'm going to cry now. It doesn't make sense, she evidently cleaned him well. Then ???? I'm so sad for her and you, I know y'all's hearts are broken. 😢Love that Hoss was trying to get the calf to move. RIP Eleanor's baby. Thank you for giving them time to mourn Dusty. Oh Dusty, last year I cried for Belle star, this year I’m crying for sweet Eleanor. Eleanor is an amazing Bison, she has a sweet special way about her and my heart is breaking. No one should speculate on the loss of the calf, it’s in the past now and let’s leave it in the past, speculation helps nothing. Focus on the future and the red dogs that are thriving and there will be more on the way. Every calf lost hits hard in the heart and it’s something that we can’t explain or predict. You have a healthy herd, which is something to be proud of. Much love to all, including sweet Eleanor. ❤️🇨🇦❤️

I just had an issue with Facebook but finally got it straightened out. Technology is great until it isn’t. I’m really sad about Princess Eleanor’s calf. Makes you wonder what happened?
