Was seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit...was told that God lives in the praises of His people... Was listening to this song when God filled me with the holy spirit. Had been asking God to baptise me in the holy spirit.... And I got Him....a gully washing from my belly....moving all through my soul. Thank God for the previous blodd of Jesus cleansing my soul. So glad to be washed in the blood!

When the Spirit of The Lord moves...enough said! You can't fake the anointing that was all over the drummer.

MY GOD I MISS WALTER HAWKINS!! THE GOSPEL MUSIC INDUSTRY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT HIM.

I screamed this on my bike with a walkman on my head when I just got saved as a teen in the 80s and ppl would look up LOL. I'm not such a good singer. Still LOVE this song.

The bible clearly states: If my people, which are called by name, would humble themselves and seek my face, then will i hear from heaven. The more you praise Him, the more He will bless you; Jesus is the most powerful name under the heaven, and when you praise or call on Him, I assure you He will show up, and if He ever touch your inner soul, you will go forth in praises/dancing in the Holy Ghost. This is the type of services and singing I was raised around; the holy saints of God knows how to praise God and to send up praises to Him, so His blessings come down. I gets so excited by looking at the end of this song, where the peoples are getting happy and saved, that is what it is all about, bringing salvation to all by lifting up the name of Jesus. He told us if we lift Him up, He would draw all men unto Him amen. Peace and love

I love Walter Hawkins!! He made some of the greatest Music EVER!!!! This song has really helped me this year because I have had my times of my soul not being contented Until I found the Lord!!!

When I was little, my mother and I would go to the video store and I when I see Gospel, my mother would rent it for me. Thank God I found it on DVD. Sometimes I would cry because of the memories.

This was truly amazing. I saw this on a Cable Channel that is now obscure and I saw this Concert as well as one in The 1980's the other showing a Man whom I think was White who may have sinned and found his way to salvation. If these guys had been in Britian on The X Factor or even Britian's Got Talent, they would have "Saved" The Judges & The Audience. Several Years Ago on the UK Soap Opera EastEnders, one of the Characters Maureen Slater aka "Little Mo" her Mother's Namesake Child got married o Xmas Day. They were married by a Black Preacher who was probably from the West Indies with a Choir to Bless them, they were Blue Collar Folks, who probably never heard Gospel Music before but they were blown away.

Other fantastic musicians were The Late Benny "Papa Zita" Benjamin (RIP) and "Ivory" Joe Hunter as well as Eddie "Bongo" Brown who were Motown Funk Brothers who could play the you know what out of their Instruments. In fact if you can see Gladys Knight & The Pips perform in 1970 in Texas for Vietnam Veterans you'll see him. Ivory Joe Hunter like a lot of Motown Artists also have strong ties to the Church through their Ancestors.

This is also one of my favorites from the Bishop who was my pastor. And I miss him dearly. He truly was a "Special Gift" and a great preacher of the Gospel. As is his son, my current pastor, Walter Jamie Hawkins. And Pastor Daryl Coley is a member of our church, Transforming Love Christian Center. Coomcast station Aspre recently showed the excerpts from Gospel and the musical tribute to Bishop the night b4 his homegoing that was also held at the Paramount.

Now this is real singing back in the day, Walter Hawkins was truly a gifted man.

AMEN!!!! Every generation grows up with new ideas & new technology. it seems a lot of todays "contemporary gospel" chooses to delete or substitute the name JESUS. We use to learn in church then take it to the world... Now the church is trying to keep up with the world.

Edwin Hawkins was the hezekiah of his time . Love him always

I don't blame y'all!!! I would'a got my buck in too!!! One of my favorite gospel albums of all time! How many times did we play church to that back in the day?

THIS WAS PURE CHURCH SERVICE! I remember singing in the choir and hand-clapping was one of the musicl instruments. You sang until you were slain in "sweat" (if you know what I mean). The anointing of the Holy Spirit saturated the place. Time was not a factor when the Spirit took over. Oh how I miss this. Bishop Hawkins was definitely "Goin Up Yonder" and he is "Changed".

Love old stuff (I'm 25)...Love SOUL music...little country, pop, R&B, gospel, contemporary Christian, folk, jazz...music needs to evolve & change, however, when it comes 2 kingdom music (contemporary Christian, inspirational, Christian Rap, gospel), lyricists must be sure that they pray for God's will to be done 1st, then worry about dollars 2nd...yes dollars r vital... ministry 1st, job 2nd...providing for family adequately is God's will 2...many of today's artists get it right...but not all...

Oh I love to see the spirit going forth and to watch others go forth in a holy dance; I mean the sincere saints, not the one who are insincere and pretending, instead of letting the spirit have its own way. I also have praised God, until the Holy Ghost took over my body; i tell you I have not experience no other joy, than when i felt the spirit of the living God. I feel so good when i look at this video, they really praise the Lord on this song amen. He's right on, Jesus is, yes He is, call on Him when you feel low in spirit or just sad to the facts of life, He will touch you in your inner soul, just believe in Him and give Him a chance.
