"A twisted form of voodoo". As opposed to the wonderful one. What they have is one of the voodoo flock working where these people bank. They simply wait for a local small business owner who's struggling to take out a large loan or mortgage to invest in their business, then the bank employee notifies the priest of the mark & he works the scam on whoever will fall for. Then kills them to maintain secrecy. But he's going to have to change his cause of death. They used to rarely check for cyanide, but now do. Combining organized crime with voodoo is not new. The Mexican cartels use santeria for it's power to instill fear. Voodoo, like many other belief systems, is pretty clever. It plays on fears & beliefs but also employs a lot of theater & magic tricks. Much of Houdini's success lied in his ability to plant actors & bribe people. He cleverly used those planted actors & bribed individuals to manipulate entire theaters of people. Hell, Sir Arthur Conan Dolye, writer of Sherlock Holmes was convinced Houdini(Erik Weicz) was a warlock.

Catholics believe in drinking wine to symbolize the blood of Christ. All those things sound just as "crazy" as ghosts guarding coins. How about we just let people believe what they want?

To anyone reading. Never leave with your abductor. If they have a weapon let them use it in public. Once you leave and are secluded you will not only be hard to find but will most likely harmed anyway or killed. I am sure you never know how you are going to react if in an unfortunate situation, but if you can remember this please do. Also, if you are carried away.....be determined to get/leave as much evidence as poss. Scratch the person, spit, leave an earring, a shoe or something that will let police know who - what - when. God Bless All.

Newer cars automatically lock both doors when you get in. But just think and be aware of your surroundings. Especially if you just got money out of your bank or ATM. And don’t walk close to vans. Don’t park next to a van. If you see a van is parked next to your car get in on the opposite side. A lot of times these monsters are stocking you in a van and they can easily overpower you and pull you right in, so be careful.

In May 1993, "Debbie" graduated from High Point University. She hoped to become a counselor to help crime victims like herself. By that time, doctors rebuilt her lips, upper, and lower jaw. However, she still had more surgeries that needed to be done. A possible suspect in Debbie's attack is Ernest Ray Cherry, who was convicted of attacking and raping another woman in North Carolina in 1992. He matches the description of her attacker, and there are several similarities between his victim's attack and hers. Also, he abducted his victim from the same city that she was done so from. He is currently serving a life sentence for the rape and attempted murder of his victim. However, he has never been charged or officially named a suspect in this case. Several other men have recently been arrested for similar sex crimes that took place in North Carolina. However, it is not known if any of them are suspects in this case.

32:40-34:10 in my opinion is the scariest sequence in the entire Unsolved Mysteries program, it was so brilliantly done. The actors in the reenactment played their parts exceptionally well and made you feel that the crime was actually taking place right then. The music, camera/sound effects and the dialogue being spoken by the male actor "You ain't going nowhere, where do you think you going?!", the female actor looking legitimately terrified, the shotgun blast, and Robert Stack's narration at the end with the criminal getting away in Debbie's station wagon Scot free...everything that happened in the sequence was downright bone chilling. Nightmare fuel.

If they find any skeletons or dead bodies, those should either be left alone or returned to the country they came from originally. But I think it's stupid that after 400, 500 or 600 years a country can still claim ownership of treasure.

She started her relationship with Robert Allen around 1920 or the early 1920s, but he was actually already married. His wife wouldn't grant him a divorce so Dora and Robert ran off together, never actually married, and lived together. I think he borrowed it for a business loan and possibly this voodoo guy is associated with the banks giving these people money to expand their businesses. Maybe thats how they were targetted. But I will never understand why people fall for such scams. Heres one for ya: A guy named David told my friend that he was going to get 20 million but he just needed 50,000 to pay for legal expenses to get the money out of the country. (Yes it was probably Nigeria.) He asked my friend, who I will call Jane, if he could borrow the money. She listened to the phone call with the “attorney“ middleman and thought it was legit. So without any promise of getting even a tiny percent of the millions, she handed over her life savings to this guy. And by the way they were not in a relationship or close at all. He was actually married. Why did she do that? Of course when the 20 million never arrived, the guy didn’t care because it wasn’t his 50,000 that he lost. So he never pursued getting it back. And Jane was too embarrassed to tell anybody. Here’s the thing: she is a very smart girl. A hard worker. But she just doesn’t know how to tell anybody NO. It took her years to tell me. I had met David a few years prior and told her I didn’t trust him. I couldn’t understand why she was still friends with him. They worked in some MLM scam with another “friend” and I told her it was a scam too. It was some grocery delivery business where are you had to sign two people up and get gift card for $50 to get 100 back. Just a ridiculous non-workable business model. After a year of working hard trying to build up this “business”, it was shut down by the feds and called a Ponzi scheme. And Jane lost whatever money she put into that too. Jane tried to recruit me and I told her straight up it was a ponzi scheme. She got very angry at me when I said there was no possible way it could be legitimate or make money in the long run. But for about two years she and these 2 others were traveling around the country building a team for this bogus business, trying to build it up. And Jane was the gullible one who got a credit card for them to use for “business expenses.” I talked till I was blue in the face trying to get her to listen to reason. She got so mad at me she wouldn’t speak to me for two years. So two years later she told me what happened. Of course I could not berate her for it because she was now trusting me and feeling pretty stupid. I just don’t get it because she’s a very intelligent person. Just so gullible. A people pleaser I suppose. How do you get over something like that? By making yourself less gullible so that it doesn’t happen again. And you lose your faith in your fellow man and it becomes difficult to trust anybody.
