Ah, the Black Dahlia: one of the most sensationalized and mis-reported cases in all of criminology. Since watching this case in the 90's, I've sadly learned that most of what we were told about it, including much of the information here, was simply wrong. - Elizabeth Short wasn't a hooker: she was a waitress. Her worst offense had been underage drinking, and her name had gotten confused with another woman who *was* in the Oldest Profession. - She hadn't been an actress, much less a failed one. - She didn't even live in Los Angeles, except for the last 6 months of her life: she'd moved around between Massachusetts and Florida. - She was wearing a tailored, black suit when last she was seen, but never wore exotic black gowns or lingerie: she couldn't afford them. Her case was outrageously distorted by newspapers under William Randolph Hearst, who even lied to an manipulated her family, in an effort to protect their scoop. And LAPD corruption didn't help, either.

There are certainly strong grounds for suspicion, in Hodel's case. It's not enough to indict, in my opinion, bu there ought to be enough for at least a search warrant.

Not one bit of evidence they ever met. The LAPD packed up shop and cleared him decades ago. Most of Hodel's book is deceitful or factually wrong. Not to mention, Hodel undid any credibility he ever had when cashed in with another book claiming his dad was the Zodiac Killer among others.

Couldn't agree more ! I literally just binge watching the repeats of Stack and never bothered with Dennis's version Of course I'm not just saying this because I love Stack's version better But do you notice and mind you , Most of the cases on Dennis Farina's version are being rehashed from Stack's series ! WTF? Even if I'd prefer Stack's version. At least if they rebooted UM with Dennis Farina at least they could've did later and newer cases. I mean it's cool they're doing updates but hell in fact Stack did an update on most of these cases. I honestly think that's what messed up Dennis's version. If Dennis Farina's version had newer cases then I would've figured okay. Maybe this UM could've done better but never and not better than Robert Stack.

    J. O'Hannon, what's so wrong with reburying someone's remains where they were? In fact, depending on the state, it is often ILLEGAL to relocate remains of the dead without proper permission from the requisite government authorities (whoever that may be). Legally, they have to go back where you found them.

The elder black gentleman who informed them that there were body's buried where they were planning to excavate. The elderly gentleman had dug some of the graves as a teenager. It probably wouldn't have mattered where they won't have been reburied, the souls of the deceased were obviously pissed! But ya you need to respect the body's of the deceased.

Each bill weighs ONE gram, according to the bureau of engraving and printing. There are 454 grams in ONE pound. 454 bills makes 46 bills short of HALF (half being 500) of the original one thousand $100 bills needed to make up the $100,000.
