Its absolutely wild that the resident Shenmue defender on the site is Dan- the first game is not bad. It shows its age for sure, but thats not a bad thing. I think people are just too stuck on comparing it to Yakuza- they share light dna, but the intention is completely different and its not bad because of it.

Also PS I love the current crew and these streams with the younger side of the GB crew- i just needed to defend shenmue, a game I sincerely think is one of the best games ive played.

I totally get you. I fully get it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I still have a nostalgic soft spot for it.

@@bek9924 that's cool- i didn't even grow up with it is the thing. I think beyond the silly voice acting it does a great job of making you feel like you're in ryos shoes over the course of the game.
