If the defeated Hamas government of Palestine surrendered, there would be no more deaths. Hamas should not have used Palestinian civilians as human shields, which they did. Hamas started this war of genocide and by surrendering they could stop it.... if they cared at all about their own citizens, which apparently they do not and never have.

I think one major distinction between then and now is the massive amounts of money involved. Colleges in the 60s just didn’t charge nearly as much in tuition and students weren’t under nearly as much financial pressure while in school. The stakes feel higher for that reason alone.

Where were all the voice's when 500,000 Syrians were being killed, 377,000 Yemeni, 400,000 Sudanese or millions of displaced Afghan or Rohinghya...the muslim silence is deafening....double standards and hypocrisy as this is all about hatred of Israel and of Jews not Gaza….a united hatred of Isreal and Jews . The protestors are not calling for a hand over of hostages and calling for ceasefire and the safer lives of Palestinians in Gaza they are towing the Hamas line that this is all the fault of Isreal and Hamas are thankful to them .

There are counter marches where a few say they are scared to be there as Jewish, then pan to the pro Palestinian side where there are way more Jews out protesting will say there are zero problems. The anti Semitism is an imaginary concoction. The islamophobIa was apparently quite prevalent from the pro Israel side but the press have their pecking order and have never put anti Arab racism anywhere but in the 'acceptable' category.
