Used to like Oprah, but lost total respect for her in recent years, especially after the Haz/MEEgain interview. She basically let them both spew their crap without asking any probing or hard questions. Totally biased interview, and totally heartless timing, knowing that Harry's grandfather was gravely ill and what a difficult time it was for the elderly queen. Complete greed and selfishness!!

It is my belief that Oprah is bankrolling Meghan and Harry's pr. She did this interview, her henchwoman Gayle always defends them on CBS, and Sharon Osborne got fired from a CBS talk show, The Talk, after she defended Piers Morgan for speaking out against Meghan. This is an orchestrated campaign against the British royal family. I don't know what Oprah gets out of it but she is definitely involved.

She WAS given classes in "how to be royal". Her etiquette teacher was interviewed on tv! He confirmed that she chose not to take the lessons she was offered. She is a liar.

Emotionally stunted in childhood, both of them. She has learned to manipulate and lie to cover her deficits, he has been searching for someone to embrace that child devastated by his mother's death that he remains. I have no doubt she has dragged out every negative memory of being treated as the 'spare' and told him it is the reason for all of his problems. Damaged man-child meets manipulative social climber. He reminds me of someone who has been brainwashed by a cult.

She’s an actress. If she were going to perform a role as a royal person, she’d research the role to see how to act like a royal. Yet she’s saying she didn’t do this before marrying into a royal family? Really? I’d do it if I were simply going to that country on vacation before even touring the palace or other royal places. I’d do it before going to the White House, the Parliament building, whatever. If I were even going to MEET the Queen, you better believe I’d be prepared. Come on.

They blindsided him with the racial allegations . Me-Again was not there when the statement was made ...that's why it was so easy to lie and make it " conversations" and act like it was in her presence until Oprah clarified and said "with you?" And she had to admit "with Harry". Ra-chil discussed it like it was with her directly in conversations about aR-chi. Another lie. It was all premarriage with regards to another expensive mouth to feed . So self agrandizing to make it look like she had to get her son away from a situation that existed before her marriage. She wasn't getting paid and could not take her own platform. "Silenced"? She was just prevented from using their platform to advance her self interest. She signed up to be a member of their firm not to start her own. If you join a corporation you don't get to advance your own unchecked agendas. If you are a politician and you stray too far from party lines you will be censured because you are not representing your voters. She married into a family paid to advance and preserve their own monarchy and all citizens of Britain not any political party. They are supporting the concerns of all Brits not their own or any one over another.

She watched, and cried her way through, her funeral so she'd have seen Harry then. Also the year before she'd been to London and shouted "marry me Harry" through Buckingham Palace railings. On top of that she says she was already a friend of Princess Eugenie before she was introduced to Harry. She's an awful woman.

Oprah either didn't do her due diligence to identify where the Markle woman was lying, or she knew the woman was lying and was complicit in the attempt to take down the Monarchy. Either way she comes across as any thing but a capable interviewer. I imagine the unexpected backlash caused her to remove the disaster from view...

I get the vibe Meg went in as an American expecting the royal family to be a group project where they'd appreciate her what can I help with? enthusiasm and then had her feathers ruffled realizing it's a hierarchy, not a gang and she's at the lower end of the top pond.

Oprah was just pandering to Meghan; the interview has not a hint of fairness. However, Meghan was 'working' Oprah from the moment she invited her to her wedding when she hardly knew the woman; same can be said for the Clooneys.

Even if there was a discussion about what color Archie's skin/hair color would be, it doesn't mean it was brought up because anyone is a racist. I'm Finnish/Swedish and when I was pregnant with my son, my sister and I had a conversation about whether my son would have fair skin and blue eyes like me or if he'd take after his father who is Native American. Obviously this conversation had nothing to do with racism, it was plain curiosity. I don't believe anything Meghan or Harry have to say. They've been caught lying about everything including a high-speed car chase through Manhattan of all places. Giving this interview while the Queens' husband was dying was very calculated and callous, in my opinion. As for Oprah, I've lost any respect I had for her when she did this bs interview.

Same thing happened with me. My husband is Mexican and I'm of Scottish/Irish descent complete with green eyes and red hair! My daughter has red hair, blue eyes, and very fair skin. My son has blue eyes, brown hair and medium toned skin that turns very brown in the summer! No one was racist, just curious about what the mix would look like!

Really depends on the intent. I think a conversation about skin colour or looks cld definitely be racist depending on how it is framed. "I wonder who the baby will take after in its colouring" vs. "Have you thought about what it will be like if the baby has dark skin."

I always thought that Meghans overuse of the word right seems to be her checking that the interviewer is buying her story !

Thank you! Oprah always goes over all questions with guests prior to taping. The purpose of the interview, she said herself, was to find out why they left the royal family. What did she expect? She knew it would be salacious and she knew EXACTLY the day that interview would air too, on Commonwealth Day, no less, a day so very important to Her Majesty. When she accused "someone" in the RF of being a racist, that painted the entire RF with the same brush and caused so much stress and misery to Her Majesty, also Prince Philip was still very ill in the hospital and Oprah knew that too. Now she's trying to weasel her way out of her complicity but Oprah knew what she was doing, IMO. That interview changed everything and it hurt Her Majesty very deeply. Also Harry and Meghan "declined" to visit Prince Philip in the hospital and were in London for four days before Her Majesty passed, and also "declined" to go and see her too when they were invited. It was a coincidence they were in the UK when the Queen passed, as they were there for Meghan to give that narcissistic speech at that Summit when she had the gall to compare herself to Nelson Mandela!!! Ugh.

You have got to be in an alternate universe if you believe she didn’t know about Harry and the Royal family and she didn’t want to google him because she expected him to tell her everything himself. Suggesting that the public should buy such a ridiculous assertion is an insult to the collective intelligence of the entire world.

She said that she didn’t want to find out anything about him that she couldn’t learn from him personally. That’s a crock and another attempt to manipulate things to make her appear to have fallen in love with Harry in the most organic way possible-two total strangers in love! Puleez. Agree. Many working members of the royal family do not get 24/7 security, as a non-working member why should he expect security costs to be met by the tax payer, on top of which the security bill for living in another country would be enormous as British security officers would have to be flown in on shifts, separated from family etc. Absolute nonsense and unbelievably naiive of them both to expect the public to continue paying, when let's face it they have considerably more money than most.

He inherited around $12 million after taxes from his mother which he hasn't touched until he left the royal family so it has gained a lot of interest and investments. He inherited a further several million from his great grandmother as well. The man is a multi millionaire and it is vulgar as hell to complain about no longer receiving a pay cheque from a job he wasn't doing.

In a specific relationship I was in with a narcissist I had given up everything I knew and moved to be with him BUT when the relationship began to fray and I heard those words in my head and about to come out of my mouth I stopped myself and said “you CHOSE to do this. You have to own that.” That’s what made me different from him. He’d said all the things I’d wanted to hear; “yes we’ll do this. Oh well do that.” And then once I was there it was all “I’m not going to do this…I’m going to stay right here living my life as it was…” My gut was telling me to go even as I dismissed it but eventually I made the break and was honestly relieved that I’d kept most of my life intact to go back to. It was still difficult but it wasn’t as difficult as it could have been.

As a 70 year old, I see a boy-man; spoiled by his position, but firmly schooled to behave in an "acceptable" way; sucked in by a manipulative woman who has found that the family she thought was an easy mark has it all over her in protecting the family from people like her. What a pair!

She had only worked a total of 73 days, spent 1 million per year on wardrobe. made 2 private trips and 1 honeymoon in 2018 and 4 private trips in 2019. The family is not wrong in asking her to carry on since her interest was never to work as royal.

Oprah has always been a "co-conspirator" with her guests, that is why she is so successful. She's been burned a few times by this approach. (Con-artist who claimed she had terminal cancer, author who claimed his book was factual when it was fiction, etc.). The reason this interview seems "off" on Oprah's part is she isn't a very good actress, and her usual MO is to stand there with a neutral face while her audience reacts. She has an agenda, of course, but so does everyone if you think about it.

I believe she’s jealous of Catherine. She’s beautiful, has a natural sweet nature and is loved by the RF as well as most of Britain. What MM fails to acknowledge is Catherine had a hard time, was literally hounded by the PAPS and has since put in the work. All of that may attribute to her jealousy or dislike because MM will never have that natural nature or put in the work it takes to earn respect. IMO.

I heard Harry say that the British press is who pushed the idea of the family talking about the skin color. I heard what they told Oprah. Chris Rock says black families talk about the baby's skin color before they're born. I could imagine my family talking about it without any malice. This is a woman who put herself as white on her driver's license, union card, etc. She wouldn't join a black sorority in college.

Exactly! I think h thought he’d got a special woman when he met MM and learned she was biracial bc he thought “well will had the perfect princess Catherine but I’ve got Meghan who will experience all these different cultures with me and fit into Africa so well!” - I think he thought she was really about her mixed race and serious - but watch her in the Africa tour, she loathes that part of herself and she couldn’t stomach it in Africa - I think she hates this part of her genetic makeup and is the one who is racist as she never claimed her race growing up until right before she’d set her sights on catching Harry! You should watch the Netflix doc on the Duchy of Cornwall and see how much of England his father owns as a landlord to hundreds of farmers. At the start he says a twee speech to them all and then says: Please keep paying your rents! ' It is a multi-billion pound business encompassing towns, parts of London, a business park and the livelihoods of hundreds of tenant farmers who all pay to keep Charles, Camilla, William and family in billions of wealth. The history goes back to the Black Prince. It was set up by his father, the King, to provide an income for him and his sons. So, harry has a legal right to a chunk of it. It is grotesque that they take so much from working people but it is still the fact.

@@tarawalsh-arpaia3928 Tara, I know all that. If you check this properly, whatever you think of the royal family, the Harkles do not have an automatic right to it. The 'trust' was set up for heirs who are 'working royals". The Harkles have alienated so many people with their crass, spiteful behaviour and even HMTQ is engaging lawyers. Sadly I suspect that Harry will eventually realize that this is all self harm.

Omg. Exactly! She is, after all, an actress. I'm sure she loves him in on some level, or compartmentalized place in her being. I'm sure he loves her, or her presentation of her, with his whole heart and being.

It was never Meghan's intention to "fit in", she only ever wanted to ..stand out!!! Pure narcissist IMO!

Harry complaining about getting “cut off and forced to live off the millions left to him by his mom and looking for sympathy as he says it just shows how far from reality these people’s lives are. My humble opinion is that they hated the job of being a Royal but they wanted all the perks.

As bad as my family issues have been, I've never wanted to air it out for anyone to see let alone the whole world. When the Duchy of Cornwall accounts were released for Public audit it clearly showed Harry was NOT cut off but still received 3 million GBP from his dad for their move !! Again Harry is always selective with his truth and his memory

"And mum inheritance is not enough for me to pay my own security service"... I mean can you imagine what level of life they have? It's crazy how much money they need to be just living, and have their "independence". Spoiled to the limit, those problems of reach people are laughable!!!

Having been in a relationship with a narcissist I can't help but see him in Meghan. Harry has been convinced he was trapped, educated about his privilege and his unconscious bias and has been successfully separated from his friends, his family, his job and his country and is entirely emotionally dependent on Meghan. There is history of discarding husbands, friends and family when it suits - and it is never her fault. Actors are not generally known for being emotionally well balanced - but they do love attention. Threats of suicide, deliberate evocation of Harry's mother, zeroing in on Harry's vulnerability (narcissists are good at spotting your weak spot) are how she gets her 'supply' from Harry. She claims to be a strong empowered woman but then tries to elicit sympathy by being a victim who wasn't supported and crumbles after just a few months in the job so her self image is at odds with reality. She cannot deal with criticism and has zero resilience. The interview itself I noted that most of it is completely focused on her, he joins later like a secondary figure. When he says something off script she interrupts him. Doing an interview like that was completely unnecessary and designed to deliberately put a bomb under the royal family. They said the press was the problem but spent the interview slagging off Harry's family. The arrogance of this and complete lack of concern for the consequences is staggering. It just screams narcissist to me.

I think you nailed it. Classic narcissistic control. I've always felt that Harry was lost. A 'strong' person came along, beautiful, charming and showed him a way to escape. He's justifying it through 'mistreatment' but whenever he talks about it, he seems muddled and unclear.

Two things people won't pick apart if you say it: 1. I am suicidal. 2. I was discriminated against. Even stateside, racism is hard to prove. The burden is on the 'victim' and it's gotta be more than just what you perceived as a slight. People think about suicide more often when they are depressed, but few go on television and so flawlessly discuss it as if were a fleeting, momentary thing. No way she was that level of depressed and snapped back to being a strong accomplished woman who will keep calm and carry on while suing the media and relocating her family. She played Harry and guilted him into fearing she would hurt herself or the media would harm her. Harry is just easy bait. Poor thing. He needs someone to love him for him.

Notice the very first thing she said she lost was her career. She doesn't say she lost her family, friends, church, freedom, spirit or the USA. That is because she values career over everything

Naturally I tuned into their Royal wedding in present time, with no preconceived notion of anything, and it didn’t take long for my intuition to ignite full alert that this was not a genuine engagement 😔

Asking what you think who the kids will look like is normal no matter who the parents are

It’s in every cheesy prince-meets-common-girl romance novel & movie, she doesn’t know who he is, so he falls in love with her. Of Course she knew who he was. Of Course she quickly added a few philanthropic activities to her resumé, Of Course she had a plan, and he bought into it. Bless Queen Elizabeth, she nipped them both in the bud.

As a mixed race person every family member that got pregnant it was discussed what the baby might look like....are they going to be dark, light/hair color/eye color. It has nothing to do with race just plain old wondering.

I mean MM used the words "concerns on how dark Archie's skin would be"...that's completely different than an innocent "oh I wonder what they kids will look like? what colour eyes they will have?" etc. Let's be real here lol it all depends on the context, and specific language used. Who knows what really happened. At this point the whole situation is just toxic and sad on both sides. This interview made me think that H+M wanted to get their side out to the world, but also MM seemed like she wanted a bit of revenge - as I see no other point to giving this interview if they'd hope to one day heal as a family. So idk - no one is taking accountability. What a mess this has all become lol I remember watching the wedding and be truly hopeful and excited. Pfft.

@@ChrisW228 KNowing someone as a person and knowing what is said on the news or written in the paper is a VERY different thing. If you've ever known anyone very famous or even rich (or both) they are almost paranoid at first by others' motivations and it can be so hard to tell who really is their friend and who isn't. My best friend is in that category and when we met we utterly hated each other and bickered like cats for about a year until one day we just respected each other on our own merit. Of course, I had just given him a right bollocking for being a brat and he told me he knew right then that he would never see me again and dropped the attitude. That's nice. But I have seen people being cringingly obsequious once they see who he is. Like he didn't notice how they acted before they knew. It was an education all right.

I wouldn’t bother Googling, figuring: how much could possibly be out there that someone didn’t already put in my feed? Like... it’s delivered right to us, who needs to Google? The stuff you’re talking about can only come from spending time together, Google wouldn’t help with that.
