Well I enjoyed having a poke around your workshop there David. Those old French clocks were so undervalued 20 years ago they were difficult to give away. They usually have beautiful, high quality movements, especially the ones with the visible Brocot escapements. As someone who likes old bikes, clocks and a bit of hobby machining I see a kindred spirit. I've subscribed.

Thanks a lot, I am looking forward to restoring this one! I paid £25 for the clock and can't understand why it's worth so little. I do plan to keep this one however as I like it. I may video a bit more on the bike restoration, but it's more difficult to film, the camera gets in the way!

Fascinating insight of the many projects you are working on David! Looking forward to the next video! I will be asking for some of your mechanical expertise on Monday.

I have been restoring an old Atlas 612 lathe, and one thing I did was replace the motor with a 230 volt three phase motor, and I run it off a VFD. This allows me to slow down the lathe quite a bit!

Thanks Jeffrey, that's one good way of controlling the speed. With the treadmill approach it leaves both hands free which is useful when using scrapers etc.

Hi David, cute clock and great explanation. I'll be sure to zoom in on that beach from Kinghorn next week whilst on a little break away to bonny Scotland.
