Thank you so much Karl! I would be really interested to see how you use the light cone with vertical standing products. The way you are positioning the light cone to have a nice light with a black background for example (sort of uneasy way to shoot).

I built a DIY light cone this morning for photographing metallic objects, it looked like a diffusion tent .I was actually wondering if Karl Taylor would recognize what I was trying to replicate there

We used to make DIY cones, in fact there's a jewellery photography class on VisualEducation where I use one. Unfortunately, they don't last for multiple shoots. Plus it's all about the material's diffusion properties of the material used which is where DIY can let you down

www.youtube.com/@VisualEducationStudio Hello Karl! I have two questions, when you are using the cone with a smart phone: 1. How can you address the issue of excessive brightness within the cone, where the lights are reflecting off the phone's lens, creating an additional distracting glare? - Did not find an answer to this yet 2. The cone's mouth (the smaller opening of the cone) is reflected in the glass of the watch. What should I do to avoid that? - The solution is moving thing around, like the cone, or the object, maybe changing the angle together with the camera, but the overall solutions are in this video: Make Glossy Products Look Beautiful | Light Cone Photography Tips - kzread.info/dash/bejne/Ym2VzLmOmKXRiso.html 3. How can the issue of the cone being at a considerable distance from the product be resolved? Using zoom? Even if considering that zooming in reduces the photo quality? Without using zoom, the product appears quite small in the image, and as I know distance from the subject and zooming in (changing focal length) is not the same thing - It is related to focal length and I found the this in this video, however still don't understand if the cone limits you moving closer to the subject what should you do?: Mastering Product Photography: Lens Selection Made Easy - kzread.info/dash/bejne/o4mrprNmlLi7k5c.html 4. How do you fix the light cone when taking horizontal photos? 5. Can you please make a tutorial with the cone by using a phone for the shoots, because even though lens tutorial gave a glance of what to do, a video of the process would be appreciated?

Actually this is the last one on this for a while now as we'd made I think 12 in total and we've now released them all. You can over 400 other photography related videos for free on our YT channel and you can also find over 1000 much more in-depth ones with professional knowledge on our platform Visual Education.
