I refill used bottles in freezer to keep it filled and don't fill to the tip top because it will split the plastic if over filled. I then also have them ready to throw in a cooler to keep food cold on trips! Never need to spend money on trips, always pack sandwiches, boiled eggs, crackers, carrots, etc. Saves a TON of money and TIME on the road.
Rewatching on my morning walk. Thanks for the tips! Have a great day!
oh the Tupperware lettuce keeper is very good .
Soaking and rinsing beans, even split peas, will reduce the amount of gas our tummies get from eating these musical fruits. LOL but seriously, soak and rinse beans at least six hours, rinse twice. when the beans are re-hydrated to their "fresh" stage they will cook so much better, if you have hard water, do add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to the soaking water per pound. this will help them be soft beans and not hard or hard skinned beans. do not add onions or tomatoes (basically acidic property foods,) to the beans until they are tender and almost ready to serve.

Here in Portugal we use to soak then from a Day to another. Then we rimse them and they are cooked in a pressure pan.
Thanks for all the great tips! This has to be one of my favorite videos.
I loved this video!!! So many good ideas a lot of which I already do. Living frugally is really the way to go! I save the cereal bag inserts and use them to store food items in and have used them as food saver bags with my vacuum sealer. So far they have worked great! I also save any bag that citrus fruit comes in and use them as pot scrubbers. Also I use any clear water jugs I find as mini green houses to start plants in my window sill. I also bought land putting our house south facing with a full glass door so in the wintertime I can turn off my heat and open up all the windows and front door, the temperature goes up to where a lot of times I don't turn the heat back on until morning time where we live in Ohio! The list goes on! I love your channel!
It's just me and my child in my house, so I use 1/4 to 1/2 pound of hamburger meat per meal. I make my own spaghetti sauce and freeze it in small batches for other meals, and I use it to make chili too! I make casseroles and take my lunch to work! I save on average 45 dollars a week just taking my lunch to work!!!!!😁 I save the bones and skin of the chicken and turkey and make my own broth! I save my leftovers in a Ziploc bag to make a big pot of soup!😁
Yay, I'm glad it's reposted!
I just got a 10 lb ham for $.88 lb on a weekend sale at Winn Dixie. I cooked it, cut the meat off the bone and put that meat into zip lock bags. BTW, the original cost of the ham was $29.12. Yes, you can still get great deals on protein if you just look past your nose.
Love your hacks-thank you
25:24 Welcome to Tennessee, save all manner of bacon grease, you will be instructed on how to use it….
Tawra and Jill, have you made a soft serve "ice cream" from your frozen bananas? A person can only eat so much banana bread, but the ice cream is so good and uses up my frozen slices of bananas. Just put the frozen pieces in a food processor, puree, scraping down sides as needed. It is done when smooth and creamy. Add chocolate chips, syrups, etc if you desire.

I love this one and used to make this all the time when my kids were all living with me. Now I do this when I want ice cream!
But making bread is fun. 😂 8:34
Very useful tips. Thanks for the video, Tara!
Awesomeness Thank you!❤
Tawra , at first I thought what kind of dirt stew is she making with them scallions. Then I realized it was dirt and u were planting the scallions. Lol. Tell Kristin from six sisters that the only thing she was missing from that hot cocoa mix was Baileys Irish cream liquor. 😂😂😂 Elaine from NC
I recently found out about the lettuce in original packaging too. I figured it out by chance.
I watched a video recently to store celery wrapped in foil....it works!!
Thank you for your wonderful videos I am learning so much from you! The only difference is that we are vegan but we eat so much of these foods- homemade bread, pancakes, we love rice pasta potatoes and fruits and veggies and beans and we love this way of eating. I know you are not supporting plant based but it’s possible to be healthy and frugal on a Whole Foods diet! God bless you! ❤
There are very few reasons to eat out!! We did have our oldest go in the hospital recently and we went right there and after a while needed to eat so got food in the cafeteria. Next days we went there you bet we ate b4 hand and took some stuff with us!!
Thank you for condensing all of these great tips into one video. Much appreciated😊
This is fabulous ... TJ from Atlanta!!!
I make your Coffee Cake recipe in mini muffin tins. I freeze them in baggies of 4 and 6 then pull them out for snacks. They are great in lunches, or when kids come over unexpectedly.
Banana pancakes: go by the 2 cup pancake mix recipe, make the batter. Add 1 tsp vanilla and 2-3 mashed bananas. Hand mix well. Make pancakes. Good hot, cold, warm. Good for snacks, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. You'll be lucky if they last 24 hours.
I remember when I could get sirloin roasts/steak for like $2.99 a pound and sometimes cheaper. Now the best price I seen for roast was $3.99 a pound recently, and I don't think it will get any cheaper than that, so I picked up a few of them.
Great video I click on the link for the blender but does not show the same blender/processor. It shows just the blender.
Cold temperatures can make syn-propanethial-S-oxide gas less volatile, which means fewer tears, it makes it less not non-existent
I do that too and I capture my shopping moments on KZread.
These are all very good ideas ! Thank you
Another good investment if ypu shop like this is s generator and fuel on hand. Southern Indiana here lost power with the storms hopefully on tomorrow. Point is without my generator i would have easily lost 1000 to 1500 just with my deep freezer.

Hello to San Antonio, the Invention of Modern Chili capital of the world!
Love this! Would like to see a video on how to make a lunch for a bridal shower/event/party. Basically how to feed 20 people and make it look nice while not spending a lot.

Yay! Love this video!!
All the frozen food in the freezer acts like a slow discharging energy battery, it takes longer time to initially charge the battery but it lasts a long time.
Good tips Thank you both. Love your vodeos
Is this a rerun?

Good ideas and plenty fast enough!!!
Great tips. I made your applesauce muffins- theyre so good! Thank you.
Great video! Great tips and for your long hours of editing! Still a little Alvin the chipmunk in there...lol
The speed was much better. Great tips😊
That’s what I like about you both because you’re real! Blessings sisters.
Sooo many great tips! I cook my meat in bulk and freeze in meal size packets, but never thought of using the cheap non-freezer fold top bags (of course in a big freezer zip-top). I mean if the meat is frozen, it's not like it's gonna fall out of the fold top bag. Duh...why didn't I think of that?
I didn’t have a problem with the 1st one but I know others did it was awesome that you have a redo, keep up the good work👍
Looks like a wonderful product I wonder what the ingredients are…(is “Oh My ___” offense to anyone else?)
Does the refrigerator smell like onions when stored in there?

I store lettuce in gigantic ziplock bags, just squeeze out the air. It lasts forever.

Great tips Tawra! Thanks for all of the work behind the scenes editing this for us!! It's super helpful. When the family think that a container of mayonnaise, toothpaste etc is empty, I cut it in half & can get out the last bits of it! There's usually a lot still left in it doing it this way. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
Just lost all my freezer food 5 days no power 😭
Some of your advice does not sound as healthy. I know your all about saving money , but good health is way more important than saving money.

I agree. We are Whole Foods plant based and eat a ton of fruits veggies rice bean’s potatoes and we are very healthy.
So you aren't being practical for diabetics. Full fat is good for you. And I have watched you for a long time and I use some of your tips unrelated to food. Have you read ingredients in food !! You are a warrior for Christ and I appreciate that!
